Do they have plans to make a character creation like eve does for our own pictruse for our Dust514 Characters? Would be nice to have that option.

As of last notification and planning by dev (this is white board stuff all subject to change)
That the eventual plan is full body station/barge/war-room/mugshot/quaters avatars (while your ground still will be wearing full suits still)
Initial idea is that you would download an eve character creator on your PC then design the character based on your preferences for everything then click done, this will then upload it to the psn servers and update the game from there.
Reasons for this can you imagine trying to do the eve character with just a controller? |

Can you provide a list of all the things that the devs are planning but have not announced that you know about? Pretty please? you seem to know a lot. |

Sounds like a logical approach. I, for the life of me, can't figure out how to make character creation intuitive like Eve but with only a controller. Even with a keyboard and mouse, the system is a bit borked for the mouse. |

Other than the dragging of individual muscles that you can do in Eve ... which I dont think is really needed for DUST ... the rest of the character creation is done by the menu system down the right side. This could easily be controlled with the pad and a similar 'build' menu could be added to give some variations to your size, muscle tone, proportions etc.
I dont see why a slightly cut down version couldn't be implemented in the DUST client. |

They don't want a cut down version though, the closest cut down version you're going to get is head only. |

No they could still do body and clothing ... just without so much control over what direction your eyes are pointing and what colour your eyelashes are and how high your cheek bones are or eyes are close together etc. etc.
A few randomiser buttons could give you a huge variety of facial and body muscle varieties without the ability to individually sculpt every aspect of your body you could still get endless variations with simple controls. |

@Needless
Not everyone wants/likes randomizers. I personally like to tweek EVERY individual aspect of my character down to the eye color and smile to match a style I prefer. I actually hate randomizers. |

Yeah it's good the way it is in Eve ... but as we've discussed it just wouldnt work with the controller.
My point is we could still get plenty of options for customization just using the menu system down the right side of Eves character creator.
When I say randomizer I mean the scrollable selections Eve has. It's not going to give the same level of customisation, but could still give plenty of options and countless end products but still be controllable through the PS3 pad.
And most importantly would be accessible to everyone ... not just those with PC access. Not that that bothers me, I just think it would be better for the game if everyone could have a character even if they have no PC access. |
