ok since CCP taking their sweet time to get that dev blog out thought id open up some suggestions/ideas as to what ppl expect out of FW
first off the contracts.......remove the opponent list. If ppl can see who their opponents are before accepting a contract good teams will be punished as ppl will avoid playing them.
2ndly i HOPE FW isnt just what we have here with accepting some contracts.......show us some visuals like this but INGAME http://dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/VeriteFW/FWinfluence.png let us see who is controlling the map etc. dunno if this is planned or if it shows it in EVE already since i dont play EVE but **** make it pleasing to the eye , would give casuals a reason to do FW if they can see the progress of their factions.
3rdly my alliance plans to be on caldari primarily while helping out the amarr (caldari allies) from time to time (they need alot of help it seems) my question is this...there is LP (loyalty points) in EVE would there be LP in DUST? ppl that stay loyal to a faction should be greatly rewarded IMO if not it takes away from the whole aspect of fighting for a faction and just turns FW into a glorified clan match system with no reason to stay loyal at all.
Dont get me wrong i love my clan matches but if they gonna do FW being loyal should have great benefits.
4thly i know this is planned for 0.0 but it would be nice if we get some sort of lite Planetary interaction to prepare us for what nullsec full interaction would be like. I mean its all well and nice fighting for planets for ur faction but if u cant do anything even something small with them then its not very fun tbh and takes away from the consequence imo.
Because if i upgrade a district or planet then we lose that planet i lost all the upgrades which adds a reason for peeps to defend what they got.
These are just some initial thoughts from me on my views on FW & DUST please share your thoughts maybe CCP can get some ideas while also hurrying up with that devblog alread |

As far as I know, you won't know who you're facing in FW until you're actually facing them. At that point, backing out would lose the collateral you had to lay down to take the contract in the first place.
As far as UI goes, I have no idea if it will carry over to dust, but in eve there has been a very nice overhaul in FW UI recently.. It looks similar to what you linked in the picture but is nicer, better organized, and provides more information as to who controls precisely what system and how well each militia is doing in certain systems and as a whole.
As far as LP goes... Not sure personally. Nothing solid has been disclosed on this yet.
Edit: Though, LP is not the only thing encouraging you to work for a single faction, should such be your choice. (You can work for them all if you want, in true merc fashion) The transition of control of a FW system will directly relate to the amount of districts that faction controls for dust. Controlling the majority of districts in a given system will allow eve pilots to progress quicker or slower through the actions necessary and make it much easier or harder to put the system into vulnerable state for ownership change.
So, by doing FW contract for a single faction in a certain system/region, you make it easier for their eve pilots to progress and get rewarded, meaning if you have eve players in your corp doing the FW side, your entire corp gains massive profits associated with the excellent new FW system in eve. |

I like the idea of loyalty, but also the idea of going pure mercenary and hiring out to the highest bidder also appeals.

agreed both should be available imo tho being loyal should get u some bonuses within that faction i mean it just makes sense from a logic standpoint why wouldnt a militia treat loyal mercs better than freelancers? |

Yes, definitely something besides just ISK and bragging rights.
Hmm. Unless the freelancers were just better players? And the loyal mercs were getting lazy because they thought they had a sweet deal going. Could get interesting. WIll be fun to see how in depth CCP will make this part of the game. |

Building on what Nova said, I have a feeling that the UI we have right now is very at a very basic functional stage. There's a lot more stuff related to FW to be exposed still.
I can sort of agree with you on the display of who is doing the contract and trying to avoid good teams.
And I for one hope to see the return of LP and faction gear (which was seen once, long ago in some early UI art). Might fit in around the advanced level but with a lower ISK cost due to also costing LP. But we'll have to wait and see what CCP does. |

Ah. A topic not about gunplay lol. Or fixes. A breath of fresh air :)
Fw is to me a great deal. It has to succeed where most fps fails by giving the true meaning to dust battles as nullsec wont be in for a while. Like you mavado, i sure hope that there will be something more than just taking up contracts. like in eve, a solo player or an entire corp should be able to enlist and commit fully to a faction ang get advantages out of it. It should also go with some sort of restraint like not being able to work for ennemy factions until you quit.
also, LP and standing should play a big role. standing especially is a big part of eve s mechanics and theres no way for dust to work without it. It s about having meaningfull interactions with the universe right ?
so mercs fighting against gallente possession all the time should be hated by this faction and associated npc corp. cutting access to fw contracts and even high sec mission coming from those. but with the compensation of faction specific items for the side you fight for or better isk rewards for being such a dedicated fighter.
this would create meaning as i dont really belive in even basic planetary interactions in FW.is it safer to play for highest bidder and pay attention to your corp standings so you keep as neutral as possivle or get fully invested in one faction s belief ?
it would help create social interactions with ppl you would fight pretty often, building the future wars in nullsec etc...
plenty of cool stuff can be done with FW and CCP should really try hard to make it aw complete as possible. |
