I keep seeing Nanite Injectors strolled all over the ground from time to time on the battle field. I just wanted to know if anyone else sees them to. |

That probably means you have a nanite injector equipped. Those symbols mark where your team-mates died, and need reviving. |

Strange. I see them even when I don't have a Nanite Injector equipped. |

It's possible that when someone dies holding the nanite injector, the body disintegrates but the injector model doesn't. If that's the case, you're just seeing where folks died trying to revive someone. |

Hmm... maybe a "throw back" in the code before the current mechanic.
Before the beta, I was very interested in the "scavenging" aspect.
In my mind, I thought it would be more like the following:
1. I shoot you in the face.
2. You die.
3. I walk over to your corpse, take your head as a trophy and then take all your gear.
Unfortunately, bodies disintegrate so fast that I can hardly get two or three thrusts of a tea-bag in before they are gone... which in and of itself totally ruins my game play experience.
Now, I also have envisioned the corpse disintegrating and just a pile of weapons and gear are left on the ground. Much like Elder Scrolls mechanics where they can be kicked around and stepped on ect...
To pick them up I must be in close proximity and aim at them then click a button... then I have successfully scavenged.
The problem with this method is the hordes of greedy kittens running behind players just stealing the loot, or team killing to get it, which of course would happen in the MAJORITY of situations...
It is easy to understand why CCP didn't use this method of "drops" when scavenging gear on a FPS game.
On Eve the mechanic is sound and makes sense. On the console it would simply distract everyone and ensure that objectives would never be accomplished due to the teams fighting amongst themselves over loot, rather than playing the game modes as intended.
Again, if there are nanite injectors rolling around on the ground, I agree with the above posters that they were possibly dropped from dead medics. |
