Trying to play this game is now pissing me off. If I'm not being constantly killed by Jack Boost (really starting to hate that guy) then I'm spawning into games where the enemy takes all 3 control points within the first minute and then everyone on our team just sits back and snipes, leaving us no chance to win. Not that winning or losing really matters anyway.
No matter what I do or how I play I just die constantly, whether I wear a scout or assault suit makes no difference to how quickly I die, nothing I upgrade makes any difference except to make my deaths more expensive and I somehow always seem to draw enemy gunfire like a ******* magnet despite how many other people there are for people to shoot at. When I do get the drop on somebody and open fire first (even with an ally assisting) I still somehow die almost immediately from a single burst of an AR.
At this point, everything about the game just makes me genuinely angry, and if this is how the game is going to be come launch, then I won't be playing it. I had such high hopes for this game, but if this is how CCP wants to play things, then I'm out. If I could just feel like I was making some progress with skills and gear then it would be ok, but I just don't. And don't say, "but that's how EVE works" because that arguement falls apart when you consider that CCP specifically brought DUST out on a console to cater to a different audiance and draw in new players. Console players don't want a skill system that's as restrictive and slow as EVE, that's why they don't play EVE.
So yeah, I'm calling it a day on Dust. Maybe at some point in the future I'll come back and see how things are, but I'm not holding my breath.
*Cue 20+ responses of "lol you just suck," "learn to play better" "cry me a river" and "thanks for playing, don't care you're leaving" "don't let the door hit you on the way out"* |

You could always join a corp and group up with some people that way, you'll have a much better experience. |

#1 your name is SO easily recognisable. If I see someone I recognise I shoot them over the guy I don't. I'll be nice to you from now on :P #2 have you mentioned to Jack Boost you'd like to group with him do he stops shooting you? Especially if you take a repair tool / Nanohive. I think he'd like that. #3 you're not bad. Maybe not that good, but certainly not bad. From fighting against you, I'md say your main combat weakness is you don't regen. I fight, take damage, regen my shields, some hp fight again. You seem to just go go go :P
Edit: if things weren't making you angry, it wouldn't be an FPS. |

Well...Jack Boost is evil with an AR...and currently just about everyone is evil with an AR, due to a slight imbalance, that surely will be fixed soon... |

yep, join a good squad or corp will help a lot. Stick together, watch their backs and heal each other. You'll have a better time in the game. |

This right here.
everything about this game is 100% better when you have a pre-made Squad that works together. |

I think the plan is that high sec instant battle mode will make some attempt to group players by ability. That, and being able to practice core skills in PvE mode against rogue drones, will hopefully make the game less frustrating to people like me who just die ALL the time. |

Everything apart from the feeling that you're letting your squad down. Not sure how best to deal with that bit. |

Don't be mad because of me...
I'm solo player and I need to act like 'first kill then ask'. I'm solo player ... because there is a lot of players that only play like that .. 'shot shot shot oh I die.. shot shot shot' and this so pissing me off, but match can win even if you are under great pressure and no one care of targets. I try do that,. I go solo because that way i'm less visible on map. When I must count on team... I usually die alone (a lot) and noone cry for me. When all things turn good, I'm big assets for my team. They do main assault when I try help them on backstage ... even this backstage means frontal suicide attack on target.
As solo player and i'm vrecked every time by ... teams, snipers, tanks, OB (yes they use OB sometimes only for me :). I don't count how many times I die, but I'm still here and play. Dont give up.
So... stay in pack, if you need to survive for now. I'm shure you will be happy crushing me ;) If you will be in my team.. drop some ammo sometimes.. I will cover your back.

Don't you love that...no bigger compliment than having an OB dropped right on top of you with nobody else around...always tells me I am doing something right... [:=p] |

Dear OP,
I feel you. In this new build being able to compete comes down to team work. Right now you have guys that are running around with AR soloing guys that are also soloing, in the end who wins this fight is gonna be the one with the higher SP and the more expensive gear.
That being said, a team that specifically works together will win hands down. Perfect example: My squad was attempting to take a supply depot. There were two AR specialists defending it. The enemy would use the supply depot to block the bullets then pop out and do tremendous damage. We solved this problem buy having a laser rifle deny them the north side and a mass driver pelted the area forcing them to move. After they were flushed out they were easy pickings for the logibro and the sqaud's AR specialist.
The weapons, the gear it all works in harmony when the teamwork aspect comes into it. You need just need a corp and a squad. |

Plus you're pretty bad at medium range. Thats how i have to take you out because obviously comparing my Assault to your Heavy suit has some serious EHP differences.
I run away from you in places like the Biomass facility if you'd noticed. |

Your problems are genuine, and they really do ruin the fun. Just wait until next build. CCP listens to player feedback, and has improved the game with every build based on feedback. Some Things they do are mistakes, but your feedback can help get those things fixed. |

I have my doubts about joining a corp. Then you deal with these guys calling themselves captains and directors and whatever else. It annoys the **** outta me. I might try just squading with randoms from local chat. |

A good corporation is really good, unfortunately for each good one there is 5 or more consisting of egomaniacs and leet kiddies, but thats life.
If you shop around its worth it, usually. A more casual group usually won't be as effective, but usually not so irritating either. A good way to get experience. |

You should hit up DJINN Punisher, he's great guy and is absolutely beast at the game as well. I believe he is usually always floating around somewhere in the top 10 of the leaderboards (#3 right now in kills).
Whenever I play with him he is always helping me out, teaching me things that I didn't know or was not fully aware of, plus he is not a stickler with who runs the squad. With the other players in my corp and squad, he usually never takes the squad leader position and gives it to one of us so we can get orbitals, war commission points, and just generally a lot more WP.
He runs the Hellstorm NLC. corp in Dust. He also has ties to EVE as well, so when push comes to shove we will have the advantage in the sky vs some of the other corps around here who might not have ever played EVE and are trying to start (I think STB fits in this category). |
