Copied and pasted from my post on another thread, with some edit.......
The merc pack cost 19.99, along with that you got 40,000 aurum, dragonfly suit, toxin smg, 30 day booster (7 day boosters are 7,000 aurum), various consumables.......on top of the merc pack/aurum purchase you possibly had before you purchased the new merc pack.....of which also changed to 40,000......so that's over 80,000 aurum right? Ok......now ALL of that will be replenished for a final time on full release on top of any future builds leading up to full release, now considering ccp NEVER charge for their expansions.....you're also saving money right there. There are no aurum weapons/equipment/modules that have an advantage over isk variants, take a look at the stats, and if there is a difference it is very minor. Also, you're saving isk/aurum by having the mag suit bpo's. I've looked at the stats, I've compared, I've researched, and at the very leaste there is only the difference of a few slots....which in the long run make no difference at all (almost the same PG/CPU, same shield and armor) its the modules that make the difference (but also again no difference between aurum and isk modules) I really don't see the problem here. But either way, have fun with other fps titles where you get charged $15 for four measly maps (bf3, cod etc).......bf3......how much did that cost in total? $60 for the game + $50 for premium = 110 for a game that turned out to be garbage. Think how long 80,000 aurum will last, a friggin long time! Aurum militia = permanent aurum dropsuits, equipment and modules = optional. Free expansions (not just pathetic map packs).
But no go ahead, go play COD (copy and paste) 5, and pay for their ridiculous maps at $15 a pop. we're happy with what ccp is developing for us

No difference for arum items? Stats might be same, but you can use it earlier.
Hence same skills + aurum = 1 tier ahead = better stats.
Sounds like an advantage to me. If you want to pay for the advantage of having a better suit/weapons/modules/vehicles/etc than other people, don't complain out it.
(and don't waste time with the, "the stats are the same, it's not an advantage" crap, if you can use better equipment sooner than someone who would otherwise be considered your equal, all of your stats will be higher than the guy who didn't pay for it. Hence you bought an advantage on the battlefield. So, yes there is a difference and it will only become bigger when you have whole teams with the advantage.)
You get extra content for the game on top of help winning as well? |

I prefer to look at it this way. If the boosters and UVT prices suggested earlier holds, you'll easily burn through 20-30k AUR a month, before you start fighting in earnest. At $20 for 40k AUR, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize you've already paid the equivalent cost of a regular FULL PS3 game after just three packs. |

The way I see it, you will pay for everyhing with your time.
You can go to a job, trade your time for currency, then give that to CCP.
You can sit down and grind on DUST and get the same thing.
Either way it costs you time. Some folks have a time demanding job and therefore find it more convenient to trade currency for in-game time. Others have plenty of time and little to no spare change. They can sit on the game and earn ISK instead.
That's the beauty of what CCP has manged here. You can go either route and you don't get an advantage over the other route. Those who can play all day seven days a week won't automatically get further than those of us who can only play a few hours a week. We with some disposable income won't sprint ahead of the others. |

It's very true. I look at this way.
I might have no money, but I have a roof over my head, 4 walls and a bed. I have hot water, food, and things to cook with. I have medicine, I have the internet, and I have various forms of entertainment. I have clothes, and a way to clean them.
I live like a KING compared to many, many people in this world. People so past poor that it hurts to think about, people that are exploited so the very few can increase their profits, and their political gains. People that are forgotten about and left to die because it isn't profitable to help them.
I am DAMN grateful for what I have. |

Hey Vanguard, you can send me $30 if you are feeling generous. Because, that's what I paid for the merc pack in Australia.
And I bought two. And I bought 50000 aurum.
All up I've spent around $90 Australian dollars on this game so far to show my support to the developer and the concept they are championing.
So, feel free to deposit to [email protected]
Watch those 3's in the email address, its tricky....
Thanks. |

That's funny, because when I played my PS regularly, I used to buy new games every 2-3 months because I'd get bored/finish the game I was playing. Also, consider MMO's like eve, which is 15 bucks a month per account.
