Filtering all the beta access downloads through the PSN is creating really bad download speeds.
Is there anyway to get the network model to switch to a direct download and authenicate with the PSN only? 3 days to download 2GB is ridiculous on a 30Mb/s connection. |

Regardless of the speeds i'm technically paying for , i actually see roughly 25 Mbps on my line (damn cable company and their shenanigans). I downloaded the patch in less than 15 minutes. Is your ISP throttling you? Maybe you've hit a cap and they've severely crippled your download speeds? It should not take that long on your connection speed. |

None of the above is true so far as I can tell, unless Comcast has decided to throttle only traffic on the PSN.
I have zero issues with any other service, even torrenting. Once ingame, my pings and throughput are fine. It is only downloads via PSN network that are slow.
My XFinity router is in bridge mode. DHCP, DNS is handled by my Cisco E3000 router. PS3 is connected wirelessly to the E3000, but 100% signal strength. They share the same room. PS3 is in DMZ and QoS High-priority by MAC address.
*EDIT* Actually, I pay for a service, where I get 50MB/sec for the first 1GB of a file download. |

I was intrigued and did a little research. Apparently, Comcast specifically is known to cause issues with PSN leading to very slow download speeds regardless of your actual throughput. There are sites that suggest a workaround with great results entails running and proxy server application on your pc and having the ps3 connect through it instead. You may try this out next time you have a large PSN download.
Here's a link i found that mentions the issue

Alternatively, certain modems/routers are known to not play well with the PSN for some reason. If the proxy solution doesn't work you may want to look into the hardware a bit more.
I hope you get this sorted. Good luck!

I'll give this a shot and let you know how it goes. Patching DUST514 is largely the only thing that keeps me from playing. |
