I really enjoy using this rifle it takes a lot of skill to use properly but in its current form it can't really compete with the good old assault rifle, though using it will make you better with an assault rifle.
Getting a bonus at long range is nice its certainly nasty at its optimal range but up close its a very poor weapon and once people train skills like light weapon sharp shooter it gets even worse, Im not sure if it was your intention for this to happen but when i added LW sharp shooter level 1 to my character the lasers range became longer, but so too did the range at which it becomes useless.
I used a clone unit to look at the range, 60m i started to loose effectiveness, once i upgraded to LW sharp shooter level 1 it become 65m, frankly i think you should do away with the loss of effectiveness at close range altogether at close range its an even harder weapon to keep trained on the target, but once you add a good high level of sharp shooter this weapon will become near useless at its intended range.
A pulse version of the LR would also be very cool and I hope your planning it. |

The effective range is still very problematic because at mid range, assault rifles can still hit me, and they can usually kill me faster than I can kill them. I have to use it with a heavy just to not get murdered instantly.
A pulse variant would indeed be nice, something that is generally good at both close and mid range.
I actually had fun with this gun though.
Now about the attribute stats, they leave a lot to be desired:
-It doesn't say if the damage is the minimum or the maximum damage.
-It doesn't tell the rate of damage increase for continuous fire.
-It doesn't say the rate of fire. Yes I know its a laser beam and all, but there is clearly a rate that the magazine (or power cell) depletes when it is fired non stop.
-"seize time" is not the best choice of words, seriously, what is seize time?. |

They need a new beam weapon like a pulse laser rifle if you want a weapon effective at close range.
In eve beam lasers tend to have ****** tracking. So at least from an eve stand point the fact that your lasers are most effective at optimal makes sense to me.
Its the first run of this weapon. We need to test the hell out of it because clearly it needs a bunch of work. |

I use to hate it, but now I actually the most fun thing to test now. Whenever I play Dust I will use it, but I won't be playing Dust that much because of other issues. |
