I am seeing more and more of them like at the end of last build where everyone started using forge guns. Anyway, like that they do damage over a broader area but they may do too much. Also, it seems as if the user can drop rounds at their own feet taking little or no damage. Getting close should be a way to make them regret having a mass driver but as it works now it seems like they can still slaughter me while am I am close enough to touch their nose. Not sure what the fix would be, but they definitely need to take full damage from their own blasts. |

Splash damage radius is fine. For all its weaknesses, this gun deserved that extra radius. |

I concur on the radius. Didn't realize peeps were taking damage from the splash. I swear he was dropping it at his feet and taking no damage, but clearly I must have been mistaken. Could just have been a guy very good with his mass driver. |

when your hit with a mass driver you take impact damage and explosive damage. this super charged noob tube will destroy people in a CQB, your best bet to beat one is to get some space between you and him. |

A good mass driver guy knows the range on splash and shoots it so he is just out of that range. but the guy in front of him is within that range.

I will skill mass drivers this build. They were plenty effective enough last build, simply had animation troubles. They'll be sick this build. |

The best way to beat a MD is to get to higher ground they really suffer there do to the tragectory of the shells. Also just because I think it is awesome. I may have not noticed it in the last build but the reload were you spin the chambers is completely awesome. |

Mass drives were disfunctional in the last build. Everyone who played with them knows this (hit detection, rounds not going off). Now they became more of a normal weapon and so some ppl are actually trying them and liking them. This is why you are seeing more of them - ppl are experimenting with new weapons that in the past were just prohibitively broken. It's not because they are OP - it's simply because they are no longer broken and can hold their own against, for example AR. They are still challenging to use - low ammo, low mag capacity, long flight time - overall, this makes up both challenge and balance for the weapons. It's only natural that they out do AR in close quarters. There is no EASY MODE assault rifle anymore and weapons are more balanced with situational advantages, MD is a good example. I would agree, though, that the MD user seems to take a bit too little damage when his round goes off near him/her. |

yup this
i was full AR last builds but like explosives so went mass driver , i think they need that big radius to make up for how week they are, most enemies it takes a full clip to kill, and if you miss a shot you have to reload, so by this time the AR guys could have easily killed you.
Mass drivers are very good in their role, squad Vs. squad but trying to solo someone can be tough sometimes depending on range/ suit |

Not everyone does, I've played against people in scout suits who shoot their own feet and walk away while I go from full everything to dead in a single shot (and I'm running mods to up shield totals and have L4 Shield and Armor skills)

Linked thread contains my observations and testing so far. There may be literal bugs in play but something is certainly not right about the weapon time in Codex. |

I have the same feeling about this gun. It deals way to much damage to enemys even if they stand close by, they barely shoot it on the feet of the enemy even if he stands realy nearby and usually they survive it. What i would request is a bigger reload time or some higher time until they can shoot the next round. Sry if i say it like this but its a "noob" tube weapon like known in other games like BF3. But those need to be reloaded after every single shot. And the Mass Driver is spaming explosions one after one. Also they are pretty accurate, all the user is need to do is to think about the gravity over far distances.
So my suggestion would be to increase the time that it takes to make another shoot. |
