Yes I agree higher strafe speeds, in some cases, can make a more skillful game. Realize however that:
1. A console game based on pure skill (is it even possible for a console game to take pure skill?) is NOT fun for anybody. You WILL get bored going 50-2 every single game and picking on noobs over and over. Video games are only fun when you're being challenged. Some randomness is not always a bad thing. Skillful gameplay does not always correlate to fun.
2. This is a console game. Very few people can track someone flying across their screen accurately with analog sticks. For the 99%, getting kills with high strafe speeds will be purely based on luck rather than any sort of strategy or skill. CCP would have to add a lot of aim assist to make this game not impossible to play for newbies, unless they're looking for a tiny playerbase.
3. High strafe speed + low RoF weapons in a console game will always create complaints about hit detection (whether or not there are actually hit detection issues).
4. You guys (players who want increased strafe speed) are the minority.
5. This isn't Quake.

Hmm never even thought of that +1 for pointing that out the vast majority of players that will play dust will be from COD, Battlefield, Mag, Killzone and they will be use to the current build more so than previous another thing that makes me think that strafing speed needs to either stay the same or be very minorly increased i think the straffing speed and the base movement speed was part of the hit detection issue as i did notice hit detection/lag and FPS drops when i was testing the scout nd shotgun in previous build. |

Not everyone is a noob, and some people pick on noobs. you're just gonna find A-holes like that. if not on this game, then thats great. but a game made with pure skill won't do anything except make everyone try to win.
Skill is what creates the challenge. lets take chess for example, the skill thats involved in there, and mind you it is pure skill, is your brain. if you face someone new, of course your going to win, but when they get better is where the fun starts, and they will get better should they have the motivation to |
