Please post the hard numerical data on the relative strafe speeds. A little empiricism goes a long way towards being able to have a rational discussion.
If possible, please quantify inertia and lateral acceleration for various suit types across the various builds.
Free the discussion from wild hyperbole, CCP!
And congratulations on the new build. It's early days yet but hit detection feels dead on. Movement feels tighter, more kinesthetic. The merc's interaction with the terrain feels consistent and predictable. Looks like the team is starting to get a handle on some of those ephemeral qualities that make a shooter stand out from the crowd. Don't stop polishing!
Well done and thank you for the good work. |

So long as we have dozens of threads going on this topic I'll keep shamelessly bumping. |

I 100% agree. Hard data would go a long way. Not just for this topic either. |

It'd allow those of us who understand game design/balance to help them out.
Currently they've traded strafe war for bunny hop madness. |

Was thinking that with the HUD displaying distance to target in zoom mode and a stopwatch we could measure strafe speed, say in one direction for a long distance to get an accurate measurement.
Next would be to strafe between two points to measure what the effect of inertia was on the suits. Could start with the 2 point spaced far apart and run successive trials with shorter spacings and plot the curve. We could tease out the inertial effects this way.
Do this for every suit and we have a crude benchmark.
P.S. Has anybody seen mass data posted for the suits?
P.P.S. If any of you should see me engaged in strange OCD-like behavior on the battlefield don't shoot, Imma doin' reeserch.
P.P.P.S. Did anybody measure strafe speed in previous builds? |

I dont care about straffing speeds, it seems ok to me. But I would like to be able to jump a little higher in my heavy suit so I can get up some tiny ledges or past some hilly terrain that scouts just fly over.
I watched a video of halo once and almost puked, It was like watching some fcuking yoyo jumping around and straffing at mental speeds. Couldnt think of anything more game ruining than that lol. |

I think they added inertia/acceleration this build, so older builds won't have that. I would like to see the numbers. Maybe this builds inertia and last builds speed would be good, hard to say without numbers. |

Well done and thank you for the good work. I'd honestly be interested to see this data as well. |
