Hello CCP,
Typically i've not started a thread just for the sole purpose of giving feedback on a build because it was always a bit of a moot point before now as most people covered those points well and i didn't think yet another thread saying the same things would help.
However, this time i want to provide direct feedback as so far, I'm very unhappy with some of the Codex changes and i want to make sure i tell you myself in a feedback thread rather than just bad posting and shitting up other threads.
So far, the biggest issue for me, as I've mentioned to other people is the that when you fixed the hit detection (Which is a very good thing!) you really seem to have changed the feel of the controls in game and the analogue sticks specifically, I've got my sensitivity set up just like i had before the patch but the game seems to have lost a degree of the skill element that was required in precursor. It feels to me like the more the analogue stick is pushed away from the center the fast my character turns, if i need to turn very fast this is a great thing but if i need precision and to line things up for a kill it's very difficult. It's really easy to not turn enough with a light tough of the stick but it's also very easy to really over shoot your target if you go slightly over that "sweet spot". What have you changed specifically?.... and why?..
In the last build i was a big fan of medium range combat with a Tactical assault rifle and high accuracy, obviously I've discussed the accuracy issues I'm having above but it does bring me to my next issue, the altering of the tactical assault rifles from single shot, skilled items to the horrible mess they are now. Why did you make the changes? Is it a bug?..
I've also experienced a lot of lag in the last 2 days, prior to codex i had no lag issues at all with the exception of minor drops of my fps the same as everyone else when there was something large going on, a lot of people near by etc. This build it's been terrible, one game yesterday especially my fps dropped to 0 and the game was literally unplayable. Is this due to the new textures you've introduced? They do look very, very good but I'd rather i was able to play than just look at a little bit of pretty looking dirt on the ground.
I also feel that some of the skills are a little too easy to level up still, this could change though due to the SP cap obviously but maybe the level 5 of things like weapons and protosuits should be raised a little?
Precision strikes from the MCC are far too easy to gain now, i understand the changes made with making it faster and more powerful, however i don't understand why you lowered the WP required? If it's due to the way OB's will work and require you to save up WP's for a specific, higher tier OB then maybe the precision strike should be nerfed back to its previous levels? or WP gaining be nerfed a little? or even raising precision strike requirement from 1350 WP to 2000 WP or more?
Would it work to add skills in so that you have to invest SP to be able to call in a OB? It would make sense you would require specialist training. Or even add a cooldown of 30 seconds?
WP farming for the OB's and SP gain is also far too prevalent in the US timezones i've noticed, it hardly happens in EU time or Anzac. I have posted another thread about this specific issue though as i feel it requires a thread of its own for it to be discussed correctly.
It's not all doom and gloom though CCP, i really do want to say you've done a lot of work and it's great! The hit detection is much better, it's really very good. The new textures etc are stunning, i love the look of the assault rifle and the new animations for things like reloading. The SP cap was very well implemented but as discussed elsewhere i think the pooling system that was suggested by CCP Nothin would be the perfect solution to the issue when you have the resources available for it.
I'm enjoying the new maps too, would it be possible for us to get access to a large map for us to highlight specific points on a map that may require work? such as places where we get stuck or there's a "step" that you can't walk up and have to jump over?
Dont take this as negative, i do enjoy the game and the work you've all put in and it is meant as constructive |
