Yeah, I've come to the conclusion this build is broken. When I say broken I don't mean it sucks so much I don't want to play it anymore, it means I literally can't play it because of the amount of bugs.
When I spawn in ambush, the game manages to push me the farthest possible point from my team-mates, with the entire enemy team separating me from my team. If I manage to reach my team-mates, an orbital strike wipes out our group. When I spawn mid-game, I always spawn ten feet from an enemy with my back to him. If the game somehow fails to find an enemy to spawn me in front of, then it waits until I've started to move to my next destination and then spawns an enemy in front of me. I know what you're thinking: why does that bother you, it's a free kill, right? That's hardly my point. That just makes the game as broken for my enemy as it does for me. Heaven forbid that my signature profile shows up on the minimap, because the enemy always has an unlimited supply of orbital strikes, and they use them on individuals as well as groups. An entire orbital strike dedicated to wiping me off the map. So if I try to stay away from any and all team-mates to do everything in my power to avoid orbital strikes, the ungodly amount of snipers blow my head off from behind the danger zone, where I can't do jack **** to harm them. My suggestions? -make orbital strikes how they were before. -make the charge sniper rifle a prototpye weapon, not a standard. -fix the uncoordinated spawning system. -make the danger zone the same for both teams, so snipers have no safe heavens. |

1. Yes, or at minimum much closer to last build than this one (also give squad mates assists for strike kills and reduce squad leader awards to assist only. Additionally the WP from one strike should not contribute to earning the next strike).
2. I suggested this last build, most of the "snipers are imba" threads I saw were centered around the stopping power of the charged rifle. Honestly it should have been moved up the skill requirements tree before any of the skill alterations made in Codex were applied. Minimum it should become an Advanced weapon.
3. Yes, yes, please sweet kitten yes. This is an even bigger problem in Codex now that we have better hit detection and slower strafe. If you spawn within the front arc of an enemy you are 90% likely to die and there's rarely anything you can do about it. There are all sorts of reasons this needs fixed but the simple way to put it is that no significant proportion of your deaths in a match should be "on spawn kills". (for that matter not significant proportion of your kills should be from this either)
4. I understand having areas that are safe for one team and not the other due to spawn camping concerns but the "kill from within the danger zone" really does need to go. Perhaps alter terrain to block line of sight so as to prevent this? |
