Okay,
I understand, from a programming aspect, why a million of my skill points were reset during the new Codex update. I am not mad or complaining about this setback, but I would like a to ask the for the opinion of the community. Would It be a waste of time to try and reclaim my Piloting abilities, or any other abilities that did not directly affect my ground play before the release of the game or next beta update? |

I had this strange idea that we are Beta testers, and its actually not all about obtaining power/skill/fame, at this stage.
So if you don't want to be a beta tester, no, there is no point. Come back after game launches. |

You had a whole million reset? - I had 20 million reset.
Do what u want, it's a beta, try something else out? Find a bug? Whatever? There'll be at least 1 more reset. |

Rather than SPAM "It's BETA, get over it", I'll try to answer with some intelligence.
Sadly my reply might be somewhat limited as the answer really is going to be "Up to you".
If you feel that you can obtain enough points before the next reset (not sure when it is) AND you want to fly Ships again, then stick with it, if like many other people, you want to test something new, then don't put points into Ships.
From what I understand (and I could be completely wrong on this point) there will be a reset before the game launches anyhow. So, everyone will start from new.
Like I said though, I may be completely wrong on that point.
Personally, I am using BETA as pure practice. If I find a bug or two I will report them (and have done so), but as far as being bothered by WP farmers, hit detection bugs, tank OP/UP, skill point wipes..... to be honest, I don't really care at this stage. There are enough people complaining about it for me not to worry and just to practice.

yea i lost over 18 million over 4 accounts so 1 million is a drop in the bucket. |

If you want to train new skills you're still contributing to the beta if you grind skill points or not. Even more so if you make threads giving constructive criticism or feedback.
There's a lot of stuff in the game and there's even more players in the game. At the end of the day the majority of it will be covered so might as well go our seperate ways in the game. Plus you'll enjoy it more if you do what you want. Beta isn't just about testing a game. It's about having fun testing a game. |

First off,
Thanks for the intelligent and respectful response.
The only reason that I asked was due to the designers mentioning that the beta testers may receive credit for the skill points and items gathered during testing when the game is released( http://www.dust514.com/media/videos/dust-514-role-on-the-battlefield/ ).Obviously, this did not happen with this update, and I guess my real question would be if anyone else has heard if CCP decided if they were going to credit beta testers with the for the SP lost when the game was released. |

Im ok with the reset it allow me to get back Aurm i wasted on my first play through 10 million sp is a lot to lose but it's pointless to cry over spill milk. |

I lost TEN! officer edition Black OPS TANKS! that I got as salvage!
Each one of those tanks was probably worth a billion isk.
