The problem with the dancing was never the strafing. Its always been the health. We need a healthier health to strafe speed ratio. Increase the strafe speed back to what it was and then lower the health a bit. That way gun fights don't last 15-20 seconds That would eliminate the dancing for the most part and gun fights would still take skill.
The best of both worlds. You can still use your precious cover and we get to keep our strafe speeds.

Or, keep it like it is and increase forward run speeds to encourage players to move around more. Keeping the current slow movement speeds while increasing strafing will only lead to the supply depot camping we had to deal with in Precursor. |

Agreed. Basically take the beta and sprinkle some crack on it so it doesn't feel like 'slow mode' is on all the time. |

That doesn't matter anyways though. Why increase sprint speed and we can't even sidestep faster then and obese person. That makes no sense. Seriously, does my immortal clone ride the short bus or something? |

As I said, both the strafe speed and the health need to be tweaked so the gun fights can run smoother. Right now the strafe speed to health ratio feels way off. They are on opposite ends of the spectrum atm. |

They are on opposite ends of the spectrum atm. Honestly, having to take a bit longer to kill my opponent doesn't really bother me all that much. As I mentioned in another thread, I'm a Tribes player. My main issue with this is that I would want movement speeds to be relative to direction regardless of what they were set at, so strafing slower than running and backpedaling slower than strafing. It doesn't have to be by some unreasonable degree, but having your motion a bit more limited forces you to plan out your engagements better. |
