EN24 has lost a lmost half of its traffic since we went live with TheMittani.com.
Riverni is not happy, as you can tell by all the anti-goon posting on there recently. |

The bigger question is, are the Dust articles things we want to hear, or what EVE pilots want to hear?
All news sites are biased, no one can deny that.
While its good an EVE site does actually start to pick up on Dust, it doesn't mean that the mercs are going to pay it much attention unless its got articles actually directed at us. If it stays with a heavy EVE-bias in the Dust articles, mercs may not care.
And that other, just terribad blog? You won't stop hearing about it. Its fanbase isn't going away, since the people that really support it are the ones in charge of it.
I'm going to continue to read as many as I can, just to see what everyone thinks is important and who's slandering who this week. |

Reading many points of view is always a good idea as (like you said) every reporter has a bias. Smart people will glean the important points out of even the shoddiest reporting. TheMittani.com is indeed biased by nature, but also very pragmatic in content.
Mittens asking Cerebral_Wolf_Jr reporting on TheMittanni.com signals a couple of significant things. First it shows an official interest (if only a curiosity at this point) at one of the major power blocs within Eve into Dust. Second, it highlights Cerebral_Wolf_Jr as taking the initiative to spearhead interest in Dust from the SA/Eve Goons camp.
Will the articles be things Dust player or Eve players want to hear? Many on both sides simply won't care. Not at first. Huge numbers of Eve players are slaves to the meta-game, but have no interest in learning it. The same applies to incoming FPS guys that have never had a meta-game to even think about much less care about. If Eve and Dust are to truly integrate, the leaders engaged in the meta-game will be the ones to flourish. The mercs in the trenches won't care for sure. They don't need to. I'll bet money though that every aspiring Dust alliance leader already has TheMittani.com bookmarked.

EN24 is heavily biased against Goons
TM.com is heavily biased pro Goons, but be warned if you troll or post anti goon perspectives in the comments here you get IP banned (hypocritical of the goons really, who for years have boasted about how they are the biggest trolls in Eve, and trolled every other website they could whenever they could.)
As long as you remember the above both sites are quite interesting to read on occasion.
Eve-Tribune.com is the least biased, however it hasn't been very active in recent months. |

I think Cortez summed things up perfectly if I'm honest. But you do have a point and part of the job is going to be to raise awareness about Dust with the EVE players and metagamers. It won't stay with a heavy EVE-bias as that's why myself and another writer have been brought on board to start and cover dust so that it gets some good coverage and i've got several articles already planned including providing information on the major dust players in beta so they can build up their reputation prior to launch.
I have in fact finished my first article and while it won't interest much of the Dust community it will get EVE players attention and is written as a foundation for other articles so that the EVE players will know what we're talking about, it should get posted in the next couple of days i imagine and i'll post here when it's live with a link. |
