Welcome to Corp Battle Edition of 101 things in Dust 514 that annoys my fellow Dust Bunnies. In order to avoid SPAMMING this board which is more against the forum rules than CCP's request to not make list of items, I am making a list anyways. No need to drown everyone's thread making a topic for each one of these.
That aside if you feel any of these annoyances you find here are bigger and meaner than you'd like PLEASE make your own thread on the topic even if you find it on this list. The more annoying something is and the more aware the CCP is about it the better.
As skill points have been further adjusted in Cortex and the number of skills have vastly increased, I wont be able to dive into every aspect of game play as easily thus I NEED YOUR HELP to locate, target, identify, and verify any annoyances you find on the field and report them here.
The list of previously fired bullets are not updated yet but you can find them here. 101 Bullets Precursor Edition once I get logged in, Ill begin editing both threads to transfer unfired bullets, listing new ones, and on the older list all the fired bullets, lets hope CCP gets a bigger tally over 102 bullets fired.
Give me a week and you'll have a fairly populated list.
This list will first go by flow then by specific category.
Finally remember as much as Dust 514 is a work in progress so is this thread.
Title/Splash Screen
- No obvious indicator to skipping the intro movie.
- Other buttons need to be able to skip the intro movie.
- No obvious indicator to skipping the welcome to New Eden movie.
- Dust 514 and Eve Online are mentioned, this is lore breaking.
- NPE Video is slightly off from audio when it goes though the Neocom section.
- NPE Video has people's names in it.
- Character Selection stalls noticeably after selecting a character.
- Barge model is closer to eve graphics via materials but the lack of lights/windows isn't on par with most eve ships though.
- Lava Planet doesn't generate enough light.
- Lava planet is lower resolution.
- Temperate planet is not as green as various known temperate planets in New Eden.
- Music does not loop,
- Music doesn't match the length of the graphical loop, this may be attributed to load times and menu acceptance.
- Intro Movie attempts to play every time you start, it should be like eve where it plays once and to have it play next start-up (or just view it right there) would be in options.
- Allow X or any other button to start the game.
- It is too easy to delete a character on accident, add DELETE type in and add PSN Login credentials.
- Server Connection Notice (unless legal/policy) issues aside needs to be one time event.
- EULA needs to enable accept once per version but requires forced reading by paragraph/article before allowing this option.
- Patch Notes needs to enable to accept once per version.
- Small Clock on the bottom in New Eden time.
- Allow access to system options such as sound and graphics and color before logging in.
- Unreal Logo is out of date (in terms of visuals)
Loading Screens
- Some Help Pages are missing graphics associated with its help tip.
- Skill sheet tip doesn't have a picture of the character skill sheet.
- MOAR help pages! Keep'em commin.
- Missing Lore pages to further the Eve online Agenda.
- Title of Help Pages are badly misplaced and easily missed, Closer to subject and centered is more ideal.
- While finishing loading, text disappears before the pictures do. Either both picture and text disappears at the same time or they remain until blank out into loaded area.
Avatars
- Inability to pan camera to the front of the character denies ego inflating with the latest new suit you have.
- No Faces for Avatars (unsure if unreal/ps3 can support Eve's avatar system http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KBy8ALzSpc.)
- Non-Combat Clones with better clothing missing.

Mercenary Quarters All
- Fade in and fade out range of interactive holos takes too long
- Range of various Holos are not universal in distance, some have far greater distance than others. Many are accessible when not looking at them.
- Previously the character sheet holo is now blank.
- Side Holograms besides the market are now blank.
- Star Map Holo is still unhonest in apperance displaying a single star system instead of the galactic cluster. Unless the default position of star map is supposed to be the system you're in.
- Holos are boringly flat, 3d holos are all the rage.
- Holos do not animate.
- Bed is non-functional, would be a great avenue to swap characters.
- Sofa is non-functional.
- Missing Lore Portal/Libary Holo
- Missing Tutorial Holo
- New Eden Clock Missing

Star Map
- The sun in alot of systems are extremly bright enough to burn retinas
- Nebula backgrounds are over noticably skyboxed
- Nebula backgrounds in many regions are low resolution and higher resolutions do not load.
- Solar Systems are missing Orbital Paths.
- Jump Gate Lines are Missing.
- No browsing by nest listing.
- Some planets have dissapeared visibly.
- Some planets have partially dissapeared visibly.

- Pop up to goto fittings on purchases is extremly annoying now. Move option to buy then goto fitting to square button.

War Room
- The installation base of the star map holo emitter looks a bit out of place
- The star map holo in the war room is only a single star unlike the MQs with planets.
- Keyboards at merc list is non functional would be useful for accessing merc listing
- Keyboards feel they need to be holos instead of flat neon blue panels
- Keyboard art assest seemingly feel they're designed for one handed people.
- Holo Table feels its too short it needs to be raise from knee knocker to at least thigh knocker.
- There is no holo UI overlay on the window to the planet, a basic planetary info window would suffice for now such as planet name and New Eden location and type. Future iterations could get more complicated.
- Holo interface are too similar and unintuitive, Infantry should mimic the MQ one, Vehicles should have a picture of a tank, Leaderboards should have a fancy high rank emblem.
- Holotable Map does not correspond with the map being loaded. I would not mind if make takes time generate while waiting for match to start also a chance to make it look cool as it generates.
- There are no controls at this table to place things down, even if the map isnt matching now let us have some fun with it maybe.
- Tram area leader further down the tracks has an invisible access denied area for no apparent reason, safety bars please.
- Having the RDV rooms darken and light up with red flashers last 10 seconds before deployment would be neat.
- Warning Lights near the RDV do not influence their light on nearby objects.
- Texture on the inside of the holo screen should try to indicate that's where the emitters are instead of being a solid bar.
- Texture on the warbages frame around the glass does not indicate a mounting surface and looks rather out of place.
- Warbarge window is a single plane and its not angled properly between all frame
- Ramp texture meeting the riser texture needs to match the ramp now that the stairs are gone
- The entire war room needs to match Caldari MQ art quality
- Some sections of the lower wall texture meeting the floor texture also has no 'seperators'
- The material of floor seams is high gloss in one angle looking at it away from the window but when looking at the floor seam when facing the window it turns into low luster. Consistency with material please.
- Nebulae backgrounds do not reflect planet location then again we haven't really left E-RGP-I to prove this

Vehicular Handling
- Floating 3PV Camera zooming in and out rapidly during LAV operation makes driving high speeds difficult.

Gun Handling
- Swarm Launchers still swerve to the left, right, or figure eight' shortly after launch causing them to slam into nearby objects, however the launcher seems smarter about this now. and tries to pick the most unobtrusive path to target.
- Swarm Launcher Launch Reticule is off target typically to the right and lower from the lock box.
- A 'cool' off indicator for the Swarm Launcher to indicate its ready for reload and/or locking.
- Swarm Launcher needs to animate its ready to operate status via slide lock. Lock shouldn't go back to default state until ready.
- Lasers are ever so slightly off reticule.
- Scrambler pistols seem to have a slight shotgun effect now killing targets not directly touched by the projectile.

Graphics/Physics
- Visual effects that hide infantry over long distances no longer work.
- Rarely infantry will fail to animate at far distances.
- Infantry vs object and other infantry collision is a bit wonky at times.
- Player and objects being repaired do not have remote armor repair animations.
- Some tiles are not setting into the map environment perfectly resulting in missing textures or flickering UV maps.
- Various Holos and environment interfaces are very static.
- Cortex needs to change to a data interface instead of the minimap holo when being used as a hacking tool.

- Possible Cortex based overview map? may prevent spotting objects that are not on tac net and reduce graphical loading.
- Grenades don't bounce or roll.
- Grenades with better flares would be a better visual than an Tac-net icon until it goes off screen.
- Sniper Rifle Scope Holo screen doesn't look like a scope but more of a business presentation.
- Some models feel albeit dead than they need to be such as the light for the eye sockets on the Amarrian is a bit dim in comparison to the Caldari one.
- Minmatar weapons are missing tracers, they should be angry magnesium red.
- Railgun shots have an underwhelming travel effect should be artillerys not railgun's.
- Blasters have no bullet travel effect at all makes it more difficult to find the culprit.
- Blasters seemingly don't have dirt hit effects either.
- Changing Color lights on facilities can further help indicate ownership on POI's turrets and support buildings.
- More lights on the Warbage model please on intro screen it so does not feel like an eve online ship.
- Additional guns are not stowed on the character visually, also stowing animations need to be a bit more reasonable in putting up a weapon including your most awkward of one the heavy machine gun.
- Models reloading needs to match first person screen animation much better.
- Its possible to have the RDV flip your vehicle but the pilot has no way to flip it back over.
- Traction is not consistent with the floor material.
- When elbowing with the shotgun the arm shield magically disappear.
Unverified
- Drop ship nose camera needs more UI such as altimeter, rate of turn indicator, altitude reference indicator, and velocity.
- Some drop ship suggested element should also carry over from third person such as altimeter.
- In extremely rare cases missiles and like projectiles will curve and 'wrap' around obstacles instead of detonating and continue their previous direction though slightly altered. (not verified for current build)
- Dropships comedically behave like a balloon atteched to a string upside down.
- Dropships have a hidden ejector seat feature that slams people out of orbit thus killing them. Most notable when upside down.
- Dropships are now far too light in mass when it comes to tilting and maneuvering. However in speed is another story.

Sound/Music
- Please add the rest of eve online's songs to our album
- Additional battle music would be nice.
- Locus Grenades, AV, and Remote Explosive explosion noises are not unique enough nor loud enough to filter it from background explosions.
- Self Shield hits have no noise or does not variate from armor hits.
- Battlemusic subtle choices of certain instruments have lead to confusion with battlefield noises and vice versa.
- Some objects do not generate noises and should such as comm towers or biomass reactors
- More station announcements please, use other voices if you have to or even play an elevator song between.
- Drop ships are way too quite or I am mistaking its noise with the music.
- There is no audio option on what level you want to talk in the command structure, It should be in this order. Vehicle, Squad, Battlefield. Corp
- Push to talk could be an option to talk between squad and team or hold to chat out of squad to team.
- Noises for facilities and structures, make some places even effect the tac net such as inside a reactor room would cut the tac net to visual only while noise detection is reduced severely.
- No pop up in a unobtrusive location of the persons name who is speaking currently and their battlefield position such as squad command, battlefield commander, general ect.
- Various modules such as self armor repairs, and shield reppers, are missing noises.
Unverfied
- No Ground to Air threat on drop ships, all military aircraft have klaxons when getting locked onto.

- There is no stats, attribute, modules, for increasing weapon swap and readying-to speeds
- There is no skill/biotic for jump height/reduction in damage from fall. Suggest Flexibility as a skill.
- There is no skill that increases run speed. Recommend existing skill.
- There is no skill that reduces costs of jumping, H2H combat, and possible any other future consumers.
- There is no infantry damage control / resistance module.
- Shield Modules have no penalties.

LOL yea wolf... I know what you mean... One of my post got locked for making a list, which...o I didn't have 22+ threads about topics over the same issue bugs. I mean, why can't i post all my bugs on one list, and not spam the forums.
Thats what I'd be doing... I post more than one bug, like tonight, four bugs... I would have spammed the forum... Posting just on one topic. WTF ya know?
I'm in the process of trying to get the moderator[CCP FRAME] to reply to my message, so I can see whats his philosophy is on... Having people spam forums with 100s of threads.
I personally think it would be better for everyone to have one thread covering ONE topic... Instead of 100 threads covering the same topic. I dunno though... CCP frame has many posts saying don't post about bugs in the bugs section and I'm going to see if he will explain his reasons of why.
This will be the second problem the guy has given me... |
