Get rid of the sidearm and the grenade slot and give it more high power, low power, pg, and cpu.
This can be the "tanking suit." Very slow and can carry only one gun. so it has to rely on someone with a nano hive or supply stations, But if you slap on armor reps, armor plating, and shield extenders you can take lots and lots of fire. On the other hand you can max out your damage output and equip damage mods and the mods that make you move faster. *forgot the name* With this set up you can be a heavy assault guy. only thing different is that you have no equipment, side arm, or grenades.
In my opinion this is how the heavy should have been like. A big scary armored guy that should be feared when seen, but with skill can be taken down. If my idea is not approved i can understand but at least give me a reason to fear them. Right now i think of them more as giant teddy bears then juggernauts.
PS. I love the concept of a heavy tanking suit, but i also love other peoples ideas. So post them, I DEMAND IT!!! |

Just today I was in a match where I saw a heavy wielding a shotgun and going around shooting the CRAP out of ****. I mean, he was ******* insane to take down. He'd go into cover whenever the shields got popped and you couldn't follow him in to finish him off cause that shotgun made any close encounter instant death. I don't see how they aren't feared already, but I can understand limiting their weapons and abilities.
At the same time though, I disagree. A heavy dropsuit is from my point of view a LITERAL miniature tank. Hell if you if you think about it one way, the forge gun is a rail gun, the chain gun is the blaster, and the swarm launcher is the large missile launcher. That's how I see a heavy and that's how I see they should be used. Limiting their available weapons would kinda stop that view.
What I'd rather see, is heavies get increased module slots but not enough PG/CPU to fit them all with the top tier things. Force a heavy to pick and choose their path. Will they go down the path of shields and armor, or into damage modifier. Or perhaps shields and damage or armor and damage. Will they sacrifice carrying a prototype gun to fill the modules, or take less modules to carry the prototype gun.
What I don't wanna see is another armor or shields buff, that isn't gonna do anything but **** off players who even when working in groups of three to four, can't kill a damned heavy because the bastard is using cover and a shotgun to protect a corridor. Their armor and shields are strong enough, so work on something else. |
