If the rewards are not great enough for the loosing corp then you will end up not having very many FW corp battles. If you are a merc, even working for a faction you get paid win or lose because you are always going to be out isk in one form or another.
If the idea behind the collaterial payment is to make sure you show up then make its return based on a minimum amout of wp earned by the corp not just win or loose. In most cases the loosing team will be out a lot more isk than the winning team. Remember that this is not 00 warfare but faction warfare where you go in expecting to make some rewards even if you don't win the battle.
Total loses should not come in to play till you reach 00 where control of space translates into the ability to make isk. Even then as a merc I am taking a contract to attack or defend and there are no guareetees of a win and I get paid reguardless. |

I think you would still recieve your comission/reward for a given mission even if lost. But if lose, not get the collateral back. |

Makes sense. Operates like a typical courier contract. |

You pay a sum of money (probably not a lot, a few ten or hundred thousand ISK maybe...and I would assume its out of the corp wallet) to enter into the match.
You win, you get the rewards and your collateral back.
Lost, you get whatever rewards you get for losing, but lose the collateral.
Obviously, you're trying to win. And if you can't afford to lose the collateral, you'll have to take a break from these matches and grind ISK. |

If the collaterial payment is small enough to not matter if you loose it then what is the point of having one. If it is large enough to be a significant lose then you will have very few matches. I have about 20 mill at this time. Average corp tax of 10% and say 30 players, corp wallet would be around 60 mill. If the payment is 1 mill and the corp doesn't win then the corp is going to be out isk weither the players can make back their lossess or not. With 16 players in the match the corp would only get a couple hundred thousand isk in taxes.
I think it would make for more open play if the collaterial was returned based on a minimum amount of wp earned by the corp as a whole rather than just win/loose. |

imho its to keep the nubs who go into a match and just **** around from being able to operate wihin the match. what i mean is that a corpleader isnt going to be happy about losing money because some guys decided to run around a fw battle in militia gear while every one else is in tier 2 or adv.
and i also think that its promoting cooperation to win so that the corp will get its collateral back. |

Since these are corp battles the fc will be able to decide who and what fits he wants in his battle. The corp does want to win and I'm sure the fc isn't going to field any militia fits unless they fill a role he has designed. It will be similar to posting what you are flying in chat to join a fleet and being sent an invite. At least that is how the incursion fleets work, and 00 fleets/wormhole fleets are similar with preferred fits made known and you X up. |
