Any info on how much the new release will be to download? Again 2GB or even more? |

Considering they are adding a lot of items and graphics, as well as the intro video, I'd say somewhere between 3 and 4GB this time. |

That would suck...2GB is more or less the maximum I can download at all...my connection is not the fastes and it is disconnected every night...and since you can't download patches in the background, that would mean I am out. |

I don't use the PS3 for much, soo... was wondering if it is at all possible to download a patch for the game on another PC, place it on USB and copy it across? I see this is an option for OS patches on the PS3.
(I really only use the PS3 for blu-ray apart from DUST. Its not the best gaming console imho). |

yea that sounds about right, with the districts being added i would guess anywhere between 3-5gigs sounds reasonable since map quantity and or district quantity wasnt mentioned i would go as far to say it could peak at 7-10+ gigs depending on how loaded this patch is. |

i think the ps3 would pause the download similar to the ability to pause most PC client oriented games dont really think that will be too much of an issue for ya. |

7-10 gigs is freaking ridiculous. I haven't downloaded the EVE client for a while, but i'm sure it was in the 3.5-4 gig range, and contains an incredible amount of information.
If its that big they need to get their bloatware under control pronto.
(and i'll have to find a wired connection with a decent download limit somewhere ) |

Nope. When the connection drops, updates will fail. I know it, I was there...the 2GB patch was a stretch already. Only downloads from the store can be paused and resumed (which is why weeks ago I already recommended putting the current build in the store so it doesn't have to be patched). |

EVE currently takes 12.4GB harddrive space.(D/L size might be smaler)
But you must consider that EVE don't require THAT much textures. Where as DUST is texture heavy.
When comparing to another planet based MMOs for example WoW that one takes somewhere around 36-46GB. |

Yep, I don't doubt it, but as you noted, the download size is considerably smaller (that figure is unzipped). |

Just looked EVE d/l size up, the offline d/l is 4.9GB so just under 5GB. But this relly doesen't help answer OP's question. :( |

I'm pretty sure that 'streaming' is going to hapen from HDD/SSD, not streaming from DUST servers.
That is because imagine 100.000 people 'streaming' data constantly. That puts alot of stress in terms of bandwith. And 100.000 can be lowballing it in the long run.
Also that would put users on uneven situation. Where one that have good high connection can d/l textures faster and have good looking game, but those that have more low end connection would be suffering mediocer/bad textures. Not good idea. |

I'm curious if my play station Plus subscription will auto download the update for me, like it does with pretty much every other game. |

LOL Some of you are just bs-king. I can guarantee that it won't be more than 2 gb. The Precursor build had huge texture improvements, yet it wasn't more than 1.5 gb. |

You think that's ridiculous? Battlefield 3 takes up over 21 GB for me. This game's nothing in comparison. |

It'll probably be another 2-3 gigs if even that. Anyone saying over 5 gigs has no idea what they're talking about. |

Precursor was 2.2GB...bigger than the original client download from the store. (That alone pisses me off...even if I had a faster connection...how can you call something, that is bigger than the game itself, a 'patch'?) |
