I know everyone is pumped and glorifying some of the new features that are cool but some are questionable.
For example: Although, I know d/c'ing out is frustrating but I liked the fact that if you back out....you get nothing. That will force people to play and not rage quit. This change isn't a dealbreaker but I don't fully agree with it. At least don't give them an ISK reward for backing out of a contract. They can keep the sp that they earned before raging but not the ISK, at the very least.
And what is this whole "collateral" thing that they only return if the battle is won?? What is that about? |

The collateral is a sum of ISK that has to be paid upfront to contract issuer to be able to accept the contract. It is a assurance for contract issuer that DUST corp that takes the contract is serious about waging the battle to the end and try their best to win. But it certainly can be abused to scam people out of their ISKies. |

Ok but what about the people who lose connection, have a power cut, have to HONESTLY cut their game short because of family duties (put their kids to bed, make their kids lunch, go to work, service the wife) like myself and thousands of others. Should THEY lose their isk/sp after spending 95% time in match if there is a danm good reason they had to log out? |

The collateral system is a great one. Every contract will involve some sort of risk beyond just what you might lose on the battlefield, so the person in charge of accepting contracts for the corp will have to make decisions as to whether it's a worthwhile scenario to hire the mercs out for. It also opens the door for backstabbing and manipulating groups of people which ties directly into the EVE universe and how it operates.
As for leaving a match, SP/ISK are not calculated based on how long you're in the match for as well, so if you d/c early on you'll only get a percentage of what you would have gotten if you had stayed in. I think it's fair and perfectly fine. |

I think you have mixed up 2 seperate things.
1.) Collateral = What your corporation pays to contract maker to accept a contract to show intent. edit: And to iterate, this is what corporation pays. Not individuals nessecary. It's up to corp execs to decide how thay are funding the corp.
Quote:Corp Battles * Corporation directors in DUST can accept contracts on behalf of their corporation * These contracts are created by the Factional Warfare NPCs and the outcome of the battles affect System Sovereignty in the Factional Warfare space * Taking a contract means paying a collateral that will only be returned if the battle is won * All members of the corporation will see the upcoming corporation battles in the GÇPcorporationGÇ£ tab in the battle finder * Corporation battles allow Orbital Strikes
2.) Individual merc ISK/SP rewards = These have adjusted so that in case of d/c, leaving, etc. before match ends that individual still gets ISK/SP. The ISK/SP payments are now calculated based of of how much time one is on battlefield and how many WP one gathers.
Quote: Skill rewards * Skill points are now awarded from battles based on time spent as well as warpoints earned. * Diminishing returns for skill points earned from battles are now on a 7-day cycle that resets at downtime every Tuesday (used to reset every day at downtime) * Skill point accrual has been rebalanced and now has a hard cap per week that corresponds to EVE Online * Skill rewards are now also awarded at the end of each battle to players who participated but werenGÇÖt present the end of the battle (e.g. crashed/disconnected/left)
ISK rewards * Fixed a severe bug in the reward system. Rewards especially in low level matches should be higher than before. * Time spent in the battle is now a factor in ISK rewards earned, meaning that spending little time in a battle will yield little rewards * ISK rewards are now also awarded at the end of each battle to players who participated but werenGÇÖt present at the end of the battle (e.g. crashed/disconnected/left)

I have kids too and all of those family duties involved. But seriously, if you know you have to leave for work or do something in 5 mins, then one shouldn't start a game.
My thing is this....there should be some penalty for leaving or a higher incentive to finish a game out. |

I don't see how people getting rewards even when leaving is an issue, especially since there rewards will be partially based off how much time they spent in the game. This means if you leave early, you get way less rewards. |
