Does CCP not remember when they made the MAG tribute BPO suits available for ONLY AUR users? People screamed and whined P2W at the top of their lungs, now they want to make militia items only BPO for AUR users?
I have to think this is a brain fart on CCP's part. |

Yeah, but Militia gear is really low on the ladder, and the Starter fits are still going to be permanent. |

If you're crying that you can't afford to keep up with militia gear, then you suck, and deserve to be laughed at repeatedly. |

If you read the post, you can see I didn't say anything that could be considered whining. It was a fact, I loved the idea of those tribute suits, but some people out there whined so now if I want them, I have to buy a second merc pack, which I don't really think is worth it. I stated a fact, and you can bet people WILL whine and scream P2W at the top of their lungs like last time. |

By "you" I wasn't implying the OP, I was referring to anyone terrible enough to not be able to afford militia gear. They might want to consider sitting back at the railgun installation for the whole game, and GGing out if it blows up. |

My original point still stands, it is a BPO that costs AUR, so I can infer people will cry P2W
@IronWolfSaber I have no idea what your post says. |

Not pay to win(match), pay to not lose(isk). Much better then pay to win, not sarcasm, I like it. |

I agree completely, I'm just saying that CCP did this before, and a lot of people DIDN'T like it. |

They're also dropping in corps this patch.... So it doesn't matter if you can't spend aur on bpo gear, if everyone else in your corp wants you to field an HAV in every match, guess who's getting and HAV budget?
It'll be P2NotBeOwned.
If they're putting in a firm skill cap for each week that means that using the skill boosters just means you hit the cap 50% faster -- which fixes the biggest "P2W" complaint. The AUR gear is aimed for more casual players than competitive. If you play a lot of matches you'll see loot drops that are more valuable to you than the AUR gear for your fittings & be able to just skill into the isk variants of the AUR gear you like.
Also, if you have a BPO there's always the subconscious urge to continue using in a situation where a more advanced (and costly) fitting may work better. Is it P2W if you're using a tier1 BPO when you could field and advanced or a proto because you're afraid of losing a little isk? Not at all -- in fact it's handicapping your ability to combat the enemies who are going all out each match by conceding the advantage to them. |

This is actually an excellent point, and I hadn't thought about this. That is much much better if it is indeed the case. |
