Now this is a useful future tool the ability to put an EMP where you need it with all the inherent risk of it affecting you,. EMP would be powerful tools that some may consider OP because of the naturally broad range of things they would effect, but remember if a EMP grenade can make you defenseless a regular grenade will OHK you anyway so while it would be a powerful tool against infantry it would shine when dealing with drones and drops and its ability to cripple infantry if not outright kill them would be a bonus.
Any EMP weapon should shut down Regen, tacnet and weapons that rely on electronics temporarily. It should complete shutdown drones for 10 or so seconds and damage them. It should complete wipe out most drops that you would expect to rely on charge rather than power sources, so if it has a limited use like uplink only letting so many people in that would rely on batteries I assume nanohives on the other hand would rely on internal power source so they would be temporarily shutdown.
EMP could come in a few forms grenades would be the first use, mines would be another way to deliver the pulse but as I brain stormed I though what about a under barrel EMP weapon it would simply launch the pulse in a short cone out in front of it and it wouldnGÇÖt be that far fetched for a would to make a under barrel designed to counter such a wide variety,
Now if CCP ever decides to make a few different fire arms such as projectile laser and particle based then it would be assumed that a EMP pulse would shut down some of these weapons temporarily how long would depend on their potential strength. Projectile based weapons wouldnGÇÖt even be effected, where as plasma based would get shut down for a few seconds, laser base would get shut down for twice that, and particle based would get shutdown for twice that. |

Like your ideas, but this theard exsists already. It would be op enuff being able to distroy anythimg at all, and a group of guys with getting shut down movement wise and gun wise would cripple them to the point of watching them and all there sqaud members get killed to a EMP hideing behind a wall and a lonegunmen. mabe would work to temp shutdown equiptment and vehicles, but even then, thats op too. Everthing op OP! Lol but yes the idea is great, just no way to counter it without adding more skills that would half to go against it. Ill post the other thread in a fewF |

well technocally a normal grenade simple flat out kills you this you still have a change to survive sense it doesnt impend your movement. for this grenade to kill you you have to be in its radius and the other guy not, then the other guy has to shoot and kill you. for a normal grenade if your in its radius your dead. so EMP grenade would require more effort to actually get the kill where as the grenades we already have would kill you.
if your squad gets hit by a EMP then there are still alive where as a grenade will just kill you.
as for a counter simple EMP shield mods that reduce the effects. |

EMPers could become entire subclasses or roles within the game, people focusing on disable electronics and support features of electronics at the cost of damage output and survivability. these kindas of people would fit into the battlefield as sqaud support disabling enemy forces for a shock attack or wiping out equipment like drones and drops. |
