Was always going to play Logi but for the 4 builds I've been here they were pretty meh, so played assault.
My question is to all you pro logi players is going to give it a go next build so what exactly should I put sp into?
Thanks in advance for any advice |

Just add some on guns, armoud and shields whatever you do... A dead logi is worth nothing and they're already easy to kill. |

I think the logistic should have a lil mounted turret on them that fires... They can capture buildings faster / almost instantly... They need to do something more. To me their just another model. I haven't seen anything outstanding about the class.

Logis are pretty fun to play around with. You can make some pretty cool fits with all the equipment slots and the high CPU/PG. I mainly use shotguns, mass drivers and smg's on my fits because when you're helping your team on the front line you'll have to get pretty close to the enemies. Another reason is that these weapons can kill enemies pretty quickly which is vital because your team will need you on the spot which means you can't afford to get into long drawn out gun fights. Not many guys can stand up to my Duvolle specialist shotgun
Get a repair tool as soon as possible as well because IMO it is one of the most valuable tools for supporting a team and making a decent amount of sp and isk. Just remember that heavies will love you forever if you rep them and will quite often try to protect you. Also remember "the battlefield is a selfish place and most people work in a squad because it benefits them somehow."
I've skilled into LAV's a bit because they are quite handy. I'm still saving up for logistics LAV though. From what I've heard the Limbus is the only useful LLV.
When laying down nano hives put them in strategic places such as behind cover, near a sniper or forge gunner (they love it =ƒÿâ) or just in places your team walks through a lot. I quite often place them near an objective because I know my team will run past there quite often and most enemies can't be bothered destroying them so it's a good way to make a few points (sneaky logistics is sneaky). If you choose to use droplinks then put them in hidden places even if it is slightly further away because a 10 second walk is better than being spawn camped. When spawning in a potentially dangerous area I immediately jump to the side and look around just in case.
Nanite injectors are a complicated issue. The standard injector will heal someone to something like 20% armour gaining you 60wp and 15-45wp for healing them all the way up with a repair tool. If you get a better one the heals someone up to 80% armour then you'll only make around 15-30wp from healing them up to full health. So it's sort of a help my team VS personal gain kind of thing. Don't feel pressured to get a good injector early on though a standard one wills do just fine
With the logistics suits don't get a type 2 as they are fairly useless for carrying equipment. I generally just run with a type 1 because it's perfectly fine. Being a logi can be frustrating sometimes especially when you have a team of retards. Nothing is worse than running straight through enemy fire showing bravery and skill gunning down one or two enemies to get to an ally only to have him respawn just as the animation for healing him starts. Just stick with it and eventually you'll gain a good reputation for being there to support your team and people will be more willing to wait for you or come to you for repairs or ammo.
Something that annoys me is that logi suits are so SLOW. It defeats the purpose of running around keeping everyone alive. But it can also affect combat. If your not in a hurry to get anywhere then you can disregard what I said about killing fast as that mainly applies to times when your going to revive someone. Back to the point, since you will be slow use that to your advantage. If you don't take someone down fast take time to retreat to an advantageous position, hide behind cover, reload and let your armour and shield regen. So many people are eager to get kill and walk right into ambushes.
Anyway this is just my tips from playing as a logi. Everyone has a different logi style though and different people focus on different things. It's an incredibly diverse class that lets you tweak all the fine things to suit your play style. I'll add any more things I come up that could help you out. Good luck =ƒÿè

Thanks for the advice is it worth fitting armour plates or is the slot better used for something else ? |

Impossible to justify armour at present. Shield extenders or rechargers are always better (you should be able to fit 2 on a T1 logi suit). I always find biotic mods far more useful, i.e. run further, faster, stamina recharge and so on.
Edit: To clarify - armour makes you slower and the armour repair rate for repairers is pitiful. I seem to recall these problems all in EVE. I really hope they (CCP) learn from past mistakes. There was a time, quite a few in fact, that shield and missile armed ships were the only way to go. Sound familiar? |

I have an enhanced damage modifier as well but that's just me. I do have armour plates but just the basic ones because at this point I really don't have anything I consider better to replace them with. Like hk said shields are better for defence on a speed fit which would have would have biotic mods but it is also good to have a tank fit as well for the times when your team is holding down a point and there's fire from all sides and you don't have to move far to help your team. So it's best to keep a few fits for different things
Edit: as also said in hk's edit the armour repair is quite atrocious so your tank fit is for those times when it's an all out war over a small area . For example when your team sets up a base with drop links around a supply depot |

I've skilled into armor and its actually very nice. My suits typically run dual complex armor reps which gives me 11.5hp per second with no delay in recharge. If you survive a fight, within moments you recharge to full health. Armor plates currently aren't worth it because they hog PG/CPU and slow you down. They don't give enough HP to justify the penalties. You might want to give Armor a chance because its actually pretty fun.
Recently I've been playing a logi more. SP from repping is pitiful and I don't see enough people with armor damage who are not currently fighting. Drop uplinks will raise your teams chance of winning by quite a bit. Nanohives are always helpful. In assault maps I always run out of ammo and theres rarely any Nanohives which means I need to die to fight. Nano injectors give you a ton of SP (60) and its a huge help for your team but its dangerous and currently the system is flawed. |
