Why continue to try and fight at the redline when there's a drop-uplink -20 meters away from an objective- on the opposite side of the map?
Why not use drop-uplinks at all? What is this ****ing fear you randoms have with using these things? Are you terrified that maybe - just maybe - you might not come in at all? Are you scared that it's being spawn-camped when their entire enemy team is at the redline?
Honestly, I know we're not supposed to rant on the forums but I'm begging for an explanation as to why this occurs. I'm willing to get -banned- from the forums to get an explanation as to why you people can't GRASP the simple concept of fighting a losing battle. |

Ok, i'll bite. Drop uplinks are great, and props to those who use them to try and give their team a hand.
* Currently with limited communications its hard to get the entire team to undertake a unified action (i.e. if I spawn there I know nobody else will and I will be wiped out by myself). * Drop uplinks are easy to find and will often be spawn camped. I've seen most players just destroy enemy uplinks recently, which is great, but not all. * Maybe lots of randoms simply don't understand what they are/don't want to take a risk?
These problems will be much less with a proper corp and communications, but at present not the best. |

I've seen worse. Once my team was redlined and they all just kept on spawning at our base, dying then spawning again. I was the only one that spawned at our other base that wasn't being camped at. |

I throw out 1 or 2 uplinks, usually at a supply-depot to create a kind of base - they see occasional use, but generally expect them to be used more. (admittedly, some end up being too far from the action, so people find others that are closer by) |

Like I said the entire enemy team was at the redline. I was spawning at my own drop uplinks and going 1v1 with a Prototype Assault Suit and a Duvolle Assault Rifle. Not much I can do about that. |

You just had one of those games didn't you
I'm sorry brother I feel you pain, just had one myself last night. It is hard to fathom why (in an objectives game) people will choose "trench warfare" at the redline over an uplink hidden in the rocks between two objectives in the backfield. But it happens... the best guess I've had is folks get too used to hitting one button to "die" and one to respawn so they don't even notice when there are other things in play like the notice that there's a medic near or an uplink on the field. |

There is no trench warfare. Trench-warfare would be able to bunker in. All you get is tight corners. And having uphill at advantage only works if you, yourself have plenty of coverager or at least able to blind fire without unveiling yourself.
You should really watch the person, if it bothers you so -- Then think `outside the box... Make conceptional placements. Place them in a area that is out of the way from general traffic... Most MORONS place their lil uplinks... In their path, assuming HEY enemy wont walk past here... All though your entire team all goes that one path. An the other team frequents that path.
See, think outside the box. Analyze it. An do not place it in the middle of the map, were a sniper will sit and pick ppl off... a shotgunner passes frequently.

There are multiple spots that I use that are well out of the way and usually completely covered in all but one or two directions by high walls. I'm not daft - I understand the concept of tactical superiority. |

It's weird but I've found that if you drop 2 uplinks near eachother it makes it more likely that one of them will get used. I usually put them so that they're facing eachother so that if two mercs spawn at the same time form different uplinks they're watching eachother's back. |

Like LAVs, drop uplinks will be something that only usually makes sense to use once we have access to the entire district (instead of these small maps) |

Game crashingly large. Zoom out all the way next time you are on the map. There's just no point having larger maps until there's more players. |
