Is that a new lighting/shader system I see?
Looks all of you testers who were complaining about the graphics got some incentive |

Lie #1-"The second was how simple gameplay was. In spite of all the intrigue and politics surrounding you actually being in the Dust 514 arena, the game is at its heart a shooter; and boy, does it do that well."
Lie #2-" The beta build on the console offered no form of communication while in the game"
Lie #3-"Alternatively, if youGÇÖre unlucky enough, your opponent could also possibly call in an orbital strike from an EVE Online playerGÇÖs ship to deal you some deaths from above.
When that happens, no select number of assault, heavy, or scout units are going to save you."
Orbital strikes are completely underpowered, and you are lucky if you kill more than 2 people, even if they are clustered in one area.
Again, another article written by someone that more than likely just watched someone play for a few minute, rather than to play themselves. And playing a game like this for a grand total of ten minutes isn't going to give you nearly enough information to make an informative and complete critique of what's going on.
I just wish these idiots would just stop.

The game is going to look alot better than it currently does. Reason it looks like mud now is that we dont have to download tons of extra high def textures and what not everytime they make a change, or have to download a new build... just my opinion |

I would say that's a accurate statement.

Quite accurate. We'll get the final coat of polish before this puppy launches. |

Graphics can improve in later build. Ps3 can handle good graphics. Uncharted series, Killzone 2 and 3, Starhawk, etc. are examples. Dust will improve too, since it's using Unreal Engine technology. Batman AA and AC, MK 9, Gears of War, etc. are examples.
There are many things that Dust needs improving besides graphics. The controls should be responsive and not clunky. I'm about to break my other controller because of the dancing and prancing that I have to compensate with players who are using Scout Dropsuit. Anyways I hope everything will goes well. |

Speaking of which, you're aware that the build they showcased isn't the current build we're able to play, right? That our build is nearly two months old? And that there's a good chance things have been improved over our current build? Not to put too fine of a point on it, but the people who wrote that review have more relevant experience with Dust than you do. |

Mass Effect and borderlands 2 also use the Unreal Engine 3. Mass Effect is a nice looking game and dust remind me of it a lot when it comes to visuals. You think Dust graphics are going to be better. Especially when open beta starts. |

I Have heard that several times, but I am not sure about that. If the point of beta testing is to gather data and balance a system, then if the system/build is 2 months behind in progress the data is moot because the variables have changed somewhere...
I am pretty convinced we are only as far behind the devs as far as they have worked since releasing a build. Having us on months old builds is pointless, unless you are simply testing server hardware and software coding. Which, this far in, is not likely the focus, although still a big concern.
But then again, thats just my take on it. I could be misinformed equally. |

Yes, because working on connecting two completely separate games on two completely separate mediums on multiple servers is not testing hardware -at all- |

Not really.I'm pretty sure that the guys writing articles like that play for a total of 10 minutes max,and the only thing they see is the improved graphics and have no idea of what all this game will entail, because they haven't put in the time that we have already.
All I'm saying is that it's hard to take a review like this seriously from a person that probably only watched someone play, rather than play himself.Unless there are MAJOR changes with the new build,I think this person has no real clue of what he's talking about.
