Have you tried another headset or mic? Even a cheap Bluetooth you may have...

Also, just to make sure, try it on another game with mics as well. Just to make sure (never know...could be the USB port is the problem)

It's fine, it's all working under the settings menu on the PS3, it shows that the mic is being used just fine, i've also attempted to use a different USB port on the PS3 and still no change.

Thinking about it, i think my mic stopped working about the time i got a UVT.

make sure to go into your ps3 settings and go to.....i think accessory options. someplace in your setting you will find an audio input setting which is set to OFF by default. you have to select your headset and it will work. sounds dumb i know, but my new ps3 was ding this and when i was about to throw it out the window, my gf who works for gamestop told me about the setting. brilliant to make the default set to off.

Hmm...That could be something. Got another character that doesn't have the UVT that you can see if the mic works or not?

I am wondering if this goes for all wired headsets?
I have Tritton 720's and my mic does not work.
I can hear my squad but they can not hear me.

As I do not nor have I played this game very much at all it really has not bothered me.
But now that I have picked it up and played some this weekend it kinda bugs me.

Ok, this is really annoying me now, My mic use to work and i had no issues at all, it's practically a brand new headset, i've had it for a couple of weeks and the mic's stopped working. It use to work just fine.

All the settings on the PS3 are ok, it's all set to use the headset and mic, i can hear myself through the headphones when i talk into the mic so i know the Mic is also working and it works on my PC.

The issue is that it's not working on my PS3 at all anymore when i'm playing Dust, PTT is off, so i get the little mic bubble on the left of the screen to show the mic is open, but i don't get anything next to my name in squad chat etc etc. The Mic is not on mute, it's turned on, i have a UVT, there's no explanation at all that i can think of other than it's a Dust issue.

Has anyone else has a similar issue and got it working or even knows why it's stopped?

You did turn the mic on in the settings of the game right?

Yes sir, I have green light and all.
I can hear everyone in my squad but they can not hear me.
Yes I have tested the mic on other games and it works.

Oh yeah and I do not have it on push to talk.
