One thing that I don't get about Dust514, is how CCP made a big deal about how all the vehicles are actual assets in the game that don't spawn out of thin air.
And yet mercs do (often in the middle of a mass of hostile players)
What gives? Is this the intended design? Or can we expect some sort of Iteration(tm) on it? |

Yes I was hoping more of a drop in kinda spawn system. I mean why do we wear drop suits.
I thought we would spawn way up in the air and have some control over our directional decent. Then you could aim for the battle or slightly away from it. |

Hopefully this is a Beta thing. Hopefully having directional control from a drop out of the MCC (where clones are) to the ground would be implemented.
Everyone after an hour of play has spawned at the business end of a red tank or in the middle of a firefight. One way of looking at this is that it is up to the blue team to drop an uplink and defend the spawn site from poachers. Of course in public battles this almost never happens. Is this bad design, or bad teamplay?
It makes sense that you respawn in drop from the blue MCC, and be able to have some directional control on your landing site, otherwise it would make for a huge spawn camping opportunity. |

They'll probably come up with some lore for this. |

well we do have dampeners . how about launch pods, if you pay for a pod the MCC will put you where you want to go , if you don't its a limited drop point .

Eh, going "anywhere you want to go" might be a bit much, thats up to your transportation buddies. Being able to land within an arbitrary 250m circle below your MCC would be helpful but not overly advantageous. |

ehh good point . i can see the issues now.. like dropping right onto a objective . i like your idea though have a single medium sized area that you can set down in . also deals with spawn camping nicely . |

It could work like the bat signal in reverse. A light shines from the ship or is dropped by the ship and that determines the general location of your drop zone. Like you said a certain radius. Drop in the heavys first to secure the landing zone then the scouts can take off and drop up links for a faster and safer spawn location.
Then it would feel more like a team everyone drops in together in a general area or two. |
