Simple,,, its nothing to do with sensitivity in the traditional sense...

Its the point at which the game picks up your initial movement of the stick.....

Best way to see this in effect is by moving the stick very slow,,,, and see how far you can move it before you move on screen....

Now try this on any other game....

there's a massive 'biting point' in Dust like a clutch from a car,,, almost as if theres a dead zone around the stick....

as soon as its removed I reckon the controls will be much much better

It's easily compensated for, but since everyone that plays this game came from EvE, and no doubt play many more games on the computer using a KB/M, they don't bother to get accustomed to the controls of the DS3 and decided to whine and b*tch until CCP added KB/M support.

true.... but it shouldnt need to be compensated for...... and gives it the awkward feel....

and if people want to use other ways, or even wanna use their playstation exercise machines to control the game im not so bothered....( long as they make the controls responsive enough for all methods)...... just more people to shoot

fenrir storm wrote:AHHHH your talking about what BF3 had INPUT LAGG Dust has input lag, yes, but he is talking about deadzones. Also, if you set your sensitivity to 0 (which is 100% for some reason) the input lag seems to go away.

You can reduce the size of the deadzones by turning the deadzone down in the Move settings, though it's only a minor help.

KBM support was in from the get go. It just took CCP a while to release it to us. No whining involved.

Yep - those dead zones are definitely real. I was starting to think that the PS3 controller just isn't that good, but if they can remove those dead zones, then I agree that it would feel a lot better. I hate trying to tap just a bit and get nothing.

I dont think it is input lag.... it seems as if theres a deadzone-- of a circle around stick centre maybe 1/8th diameter of the full stick extension-- if you hold it within this there will be no reaction no matter how long you leave it there until you push it past the critical point

who knows,,, it might be something that happens with move controllers and kb/m too in their own way and explain some of the complaints those guys have too

you are correct, this is called a dead zone. and you are also correct in the fact that dust's dead zone is much larger than other games currently out for the ps3. +1
