Yeah, a lot of the time I'll just turn off voice chat because people leave their mic open and you hear that kind of crap the entire time. There's nothing tactical anyone can say that would make it worth listening to that an entire game. |

Shouldnt have to mute anyone. [Push to talk] would enable players with noisy backgrounds to limit the amount of noise they bring into comms and still contribute to teamwork/communication. |

EvE didn't have it, get yelled at to clear the comms. Possibly get team killed/podded or kicked from fleet if it's to disruptive. Push to talk seems like good solution to me. Or noise canceling mics that only turn on when speaking.

What's wrong with you people? We've had Push To Talk since this build rolled out.
You enable in a setting about the chat window and use the left D-Pad to talk.

I use push to talk always, and so should others. It means you communicate when you HAVE to. And bad furry is permanently muted so I don't have to listen to his pathetic lame music through a whole game. |

I would imagine this problem only to increase when we have upwards of 64+ or damn us if we get 128 or even bigger teams.
Then we truly are screaming players to behave in live mics or to finally use and see the need for PPT.
It's ok enough to mute idiots in a 16 or 24 or 32 man teams but wait till you need to mute those buggers in a 128 or more. Thats pain in the kitten.
I think this issue is cultural difference in small and large populated comms.
Man, o man the TEST comms or GOON comms. :) |

Or just have squad chat enabled... We do need a leadership feature and a mute player option though. |

Problem I see with this muting players is that, if all players mute those players that have background noises and they hapen to provide valuable information and that information is lost due to averyone muting them. And that can cause team to be killed.
Muting is not a elegant solution to the problen in hand. |

We have a push to talk, yet it is not working so well. When in game it does it's job. But you have to turn it off when you are out of game and forming squad or hanging in a channel, and use open mic. It just sits there and keeps scrolling to left or doing nothing if you try using the PTT out of game,... if they fix this more people might start using PTT always. Having to switch back and forth isn't something we should have to do |

Problem I have with push to talk is when I'm on the battlefield and need support sometimes (say hacking the objective and three assault-men spawn in and my team is close) I need to have all my attention on the fight and pushing push to talk limits my movement witch I need to keep from getting shot |

One mid-way compromise would be to implement PTT as a toggle feature.
Push once PTT to toggle it on and be able to talk. Push it again to turn off.
But this propably would only lead players to use PTT function always toggled on and thereby we are in the same issue. |

push to talk MUST BE FORCED!
almost all of the chat right now is either the constant noise, people raging, or people telling each other that they REALLY need to use push to talk. |

I keep my mic off for this reason, too much BG noise at my house. I wish push to talk was more practical, but it's not. I'm gonna invest in a good headset at some point, hopefully that cuts back on the BG noise just a tad. |

I use the mute on my headset, because I have respect for other people. But like others have said, P2T in the middle of a battle would be a death sentence for me. & make chatting in the MQ a pain if you want to say, restock your fittings & respond to people talking to you at the same time. The toggle solution would work in battles but not in MQ, but still worth consideration. A possible solution would be to change the toggle to R3 or L3 while in the MQ. |

Honestly people take one from the movies when the hell do u see a soldier in military movies standing out in the open talking into his radio. The other guys could be screaming for him to respond his attitude dont change why cause if he does hes dead im shure many military men in these forums that have seen combat will tell u the same thing there last priority is to respond to th guys asking for backup when they need backup themselves
Ill tell everyone rigt now mycorp will have a strict policy on ptt everyone must use even commanders only few exceptions only current one is pilots as there normally to busy maintaining there aircraft to ever press that button but if there not in the air there using ptt |
