the past 2 days i've played, i've frozen 2x within an hour on one day, and once last night. all 3 times were preempted by severe lag spikes.
is there a connection between lag spikes and freezing? like the game gets so out of sync during a lag spike that when it goes to correct itself, it locks up? if so, could this mean it's a server issue? after all, most of the freezing started after the move to sisi? just my observations, i could be wrong.
i never froze up until recently. i've had plenty of soft locks where i could press the PS button and quit the game, but these last 3 i had to hold the on/off button. no unplugging thankfully, but still, i can't wait for tranquility. the move is coming this week right?? please tell me the rumors are true. |

that's what i'm saying. last night, i had 1 really laggy game, almost froze (about 1second) and it came back. it just seems to me that lag spikes cause hard locks. if this is true (or at least partially true) then some of the problems should go away when we move to TQ. i didn't freeze at all in the old june build. only in this current build (the sisi server) which wasn't meant to carry so much traffic. just an observation, could be wrong. |

Since last night the amount of hard freezes have been worse for me. I'm not sure if statistics are just not on my side today or freezes are getting worse. It has frozen 90% of the games that I have played today. There is also another similar issue that happens once in a while where the instant battle menu freezes with players being loaded up and if you back out of that, since nothing happens after a while, you are forced to hit the PS button and quit. |

I have noticed this as well. Ive run into lag spikes that either cause a hard freeze or boot every one from the match. The sad part is I only ever seem to get booted from matches Im doing well in.
Latency is a bad cause for freezes because theres nothing we can do individually to prevent it. My play station is conected a short ethernet cable to my modem which is sitting right next to it. Not sure what else I could to do for latency.
Also why do people keep saying that tranquility will fix all this nonsense? How is singularity causing it? |

your connection doesn't matter. it's lag... be it from your connection, or other player's connections. 1 person with a bad connection can cause problems for everyone. the server will try to compensate for this person... causing lag. see MAG for reference.
sisi is to blame because it wasn't designed to handle this much traffic. other posts have stated that sisi is meant to handle only a few hundred people. it is being choked by over a thousand. overloaded server will cause lag no one can do anything about.
other complaints have been about the unreal engine. that it is outdated and is causing lag. hopefully the most recent version will be used upon final release build? i don't know all the details about that one.
again, i'm just going by observations from playing the game. the 3 (thankfully few) hard locks i've had were all in this build and all due to a massive lag spike. i'm just trying to put 2 and 2 together based on what i've heard regarding lag and the sisi server. |
