I've noticed in most games that have some sort of drop ship, the passengers can never move around, they are always fixed in a certain position. Why is this? I think it would be pretty cool if players could move around in the drop ship just like they can on the ground. And instead of pressing a button to get out, you could just walk out the side door and jump off, giving you more momentum on where you want to drop down. As it is now you kind of just drop out without really seeing what's below you.

Is it coding that prevents this from being possible?

I know that many people probably don't care about this but countless times I've been piloting a drop ship and someone will blindly jump out and land right next to an enemy tank. If he would have been able to go to one side, sprint and jump, he could have landed behind a rock, the tank would have never saw him, and he could have continued his assault on (x) base.

Would anyone else like to see this, or explain why I've never seen it in any game?

It' not coding, but keeping the player on a moving platform. The dropship dives, rises and moves about, it is hard to keep the player from sliding or bouncing around. When you add network related latency, you get all kinds of problems with players glitching through the floor, roof or walls...

I like the dropships as they are (mostly). Besides, did you know there is a weight distribution with the dropship related to its passengers? The dropship will tilt one way or the other when a new clone spawns in via CRU. I also have enough problems getting people out of my dropship. I don't need them to take cover from snipers too. Those solders would never leave.

What if you pressed circle to get in, but from that point you could wander around but no using equipment for obvious reasons
