So, I've got a few questions about Dropships, I enjoy flying them and I'm not a bad pilot, but there are things I don't understand
1) eHP - I've seen the word used and I know I have to add something together to get my total eHP, I'd like to know what I do and given an example so I can actually get this right. 2) Difference between Standard and Logistics Dropships? - Looking at the two ships I use, Myron or Eryx, heres the default stats for both of them
Myron Attributes: Shield > 1700 HP Armor > 1000 HP Shield Recharge Rate > 23.0 Meta Level > 1 Fitting: Max. CPU > 255 Max. PG > 400 Vehicle High-Powered Module > 4 Passengers > 5 Vehicle Low-Powered Module > 2 Vehicle Small Turret > 2
PRICE: 220,000
Eryx Attributes: Shield > 1600 HP Armor > 1000 HP Shield Recharge Rate > 24.0 Meta Level > 3 Fitting: Max. CPU > 225 Max. PG > 270 Vehicle High-Powered Module > 4 Passengers > 5 Vehicle Low-Powered Module > 2 Vehicle Small Turret > 2
PRICE: 461,920
From a glance, it looks like the Myron is actually a better deal, it doesn't require another 1 mil sp in the Caldari dropships skill and is half the price, is the Eryx actually better in anyway?
3) Whilst this doesn't really have much to do with Dropships as a whole, but what is a meta level? |

If you're running a CRU Eryx is better, if not Myron is better. This could change if CCP chooses to display resists and we discover the Eryx has higher base resists then Myron, but without that data the Myron seems to be able to fit a bigger tank and be much more flexible on fitting.
To calculate eHP use this formula:
X / (1-Y)
X is you Hp, either shield or armor as they need to be figured separate. Y is your resists
So for a Myron with 1000 shield HP and 50% resists this would be the result:
1000 / (1-.5) 1000 / .5 = 2000 eHP
Then you would do your armor the same way and add the numbers together.
Edit, meta level is tech level. Just gives you an idea how it compares to other items in the same category, higher number is more advanced. It isn't actually a stat that influences performance, but is a basic summary of hoe it stacks up. |

EHP = Effective hit points = actual armor + shield mutliplied by effect of resistances.
If you have 1000 armour and 50% damage resistance your armour EHP would be 2000.
Meta level is an indicator of how "good" an item is. Meta 1 is standard, meta 3 is better. It doesn't actually affect anything, but should allow you to quickly identify that one item is (on average) better than a similar one because it has a higher meta level. |

eHP is Effective Hit Points. It's hitpoints over one minus resists. For example a vehicle with 1000 hp and 30 resists would have 1000/(1-.3)=1429 eHP.
We do this because it makes it much easier to visualize how much your resists affect your surviveability this way. The alternative is trying to factor resists into how much damage every weapon does. Pain in the butt, y'know?

As it is right now the Myron is flat-out better. It's higher PG allows it to have more eHP AND damage even when fit with an mCRU. Sometime soon(tm) vehicles and dropsuits will be getting skill bonuses. The Eryx and Prometheus will become "Force Recon Dropships" according to one devblog and will be able to fit cloaks and get bonuses to eWar mods.

This is something from EVE, it's a way to determine how advanced an item is. Meta 0 is militia, meta 1 is basic, meta 2-4 is basic variants, meta 5 is (advanced? It's T2 in EVE) something, and higher meta levels are for deadspace, faction, and officer gear. Not a lot of that available yet.
Also, check out the dropship flight school thread. |

Cheers fellas, lemme just get this right though You add the armor and shield, (mine would be 1794+1149 = 2943) divide by 0.9 (because I have a 10% Shield reduction) giving me 3270 as my eHP, correct? (I'm quite bad at maths) |

(I'm quite bad at maths) Not quite, because the 10% only applies to shields. So it's 1794/.9+1149=3142 eHP. That said I generally don't count my armor in my eHP because going into armor means burning to death. |
