One of the great thing about MMOs is seeing your progress visually with the way your armor and weapons look. Having higher tier items look more complex and interesting would really make progression more rewarding. It would also be good for threat analysis for other players (deciding if they can defeat an enemy or not based on their physical appearance), so it would also add greater tactical elements to the game. Dust 514 already does this to an extent by having different colors for items of higher tiers, but this can be done much better. This isn't a priority, but something to think about, and maybe do in a year or 2.
I was thinking of something simple, like adding elaborate shoulder plates to show off the tier of one's dropsuit, much like this, or just changing the design of individual dropsuit armor pieces (like helmet, shoulders, breastplate) based on the tier of the dropsuit beyond just coloring. |

I agree completely there needs to be something visually different about higher tier equip. but not flashy shoulder pads, that's tacky. something more subtle that carries a tone of authority and seniority something imposing but quiet enough to blend in if you're not paying attention. |

Doesn't have too be too flashy, not full shining gold Warhammer 40k armor, just some small changes to the armor pieces, or gun models. Might attract more attention, but I think a player with high level gear could handle it. |

I think stuff should just look... higher quality. Sharper lines, sleeker curves, etc.
Officer weapons should look like a custom-made, handcrafted device. Militia weapons should look like something mined by slave labor and stamped out in a batch of millions. |
