I just posted a bunch of far more important requests, but this is something that annoys me a bit.
9 times out of 10 when i spawn to a drop uplink i do so to find myself facing a wall/corner/rock crevice/etc.. When someone places an uplink they usually do so in a hidden location up against one of these surfaces but unfortunately they either don't or are unable to turn around before dropping it. I think it'd be better if you spawned in facing the opposite direction that the guy was facing when he placed it. Often i spawn to an uplink that I wasn't aware was being camped only to get shot in the back because i came in facing a wall. If i had just been facing the other way i may still be alive.
It's just a minor random thought. There are times when facing the same way the dropper was facing is beneficial, but the large majority of the time it gets me killed. |

The first few times I dropped an uplink, I didn't think about it, but when I noticed that you spawn facing the same direction as the dropper, I am more careful. That being said, this doesn't really help that much against campers waiting behind the uplink. Since it is not dropped where I stand, but thrown, there is always room behind. I just camped an uplink in the plains. Didn't help them that there were no walls. You and your team really have to defend your uplinks. |

I see where you're going with the thrown vs. dropped leaving room behind. Maybe it should be dropped then? I know it's a minor thing. No big deal really. But it's enough of an issue that even you take care to think about a link when you place it. Sometimes half a second to turn around is this difference between life and death. Many times i spawn facing a wall and begin to get shot and turn around with enough time to nearly kill a guy before he kills me. If i was facing forward he'd be dead and i can tell my squad the link is compromised. If it were in the open plains what'd the harm be in it spawning people facing the opposite way? It wouldn't matter there and it would help the face-in-wall situations, no?
I totally see your point. Defending a link is a given. However, every player having the common sense of where and how to position them is apparently not.
Just thinking of annoyances I come across, however small, and throwing them in the ring for fine tuning. Not all ideas are gems. If this idea is a dud, fair enough, lol. |

Yeah, it would be better if people spawned facing the opposite direction to the guy that dropped the uplink. Either that or the uplink should be dropped and not thrown. |
