The LAV is very hard to control when you reach a high speed, if you just as much as tap the analog stick you are not driving a car anymore, you are flying a helicopter instead. Well yes I exaggerated but you get my point

They are not hard to control. They are just a bit slippery.. need some new tires :) But on the other hand you can do some cool drifting with the current LAVs which is really necessary when you want to evade Swarms and Forges.

Yeah, hard to control is not really what I meant, it is exactly how you describe it, slippery and needs new tires

 Mine's missing a cup holder....

That aside, i agree, a little too slippery for what i perceive the realistic weight would be. Not to mention what its intended application is as a LAV. We may as well have LAAirboats. Driving on pavement at speed is the only thing that should produce traction that slippery. I totally agree that the drifting effect is excellent and fun, however you can also drift a vehicle that has excellent traction .... if you choose to. I think the issue may not only be the coding, but also the controls. They've been discussed in other threads so i won't go there.

The throttle response is also a lacking and braking distance is laughable. These lifeforms have mastered the most advanced technologies in the universe, yet the design of wheeled vehicles evades them? These things should be the epitome of offroad vehicles, no?

Well ... it's like people today don't know anymore how to build a Stradivari quality violin no matter how much high tech they use. Some knowledge just gets lost or tones down to not being in the focus of science any longer. Same goes for ways to attach horses to carriages. I'm sure that's why the LAV steering is so bad.

Lol. I'm almost certain you were half-joking there but it's hard to tell on these forums.

I'll choose to entertain that reasoning simply because it's hilarious. At the same time i'll offer two possible solutions:

 1. They are more than capable of grasping the idea of wheeled vehicles, in which case CCP can just, you know, fix it. Story line unaffected.

 2. If CCP,...erm.... i mean the humans of New Eden, aren't able to get wheeled vehicles right then rip them wheels off, throw on some thrusters, some levitation thingamajigs, pop in a flux capacitor and make a perfectly controllable all terrain vehicle.

But really, CCP, just fix the vehicles. I've got faith in you. Thank you!

yeah these "humans of new eden" are pretty poor vehicle designers they can make powerful space fairing ships that rule the skys but they cant even get atmosphere flight or even driving right.

i agree LAV need more weight, they need more traction, and thats all really if they ever decide to lower swarms just a tad LAV would be a proper vehicle to use in combat.

Plus they need to remove the throttle from the LS and put it on the L2, R2 buttons. I think the separation from the control stick may improve some issue, but it won't fix the lack of weight the thing has. Then again, we could be on a low gravity planet and that would explain everything. Like driving on the MOON!!
