DUST Search - Sick of dying?? Some Tips for the Noobs

SNIPERS! Dont sit in one spot the entire match! kill 1 or 2 if u have the shot and move to another location and keep going. when i see ur little red mark on a mountain im comin for u. and ill take my time gettin there so i can shoot point blank in the back of the head lol.

.... meh im no expert but i only started playin this about 3 weeks ago and im almost 1000 kills over my deaths so i must be doin somethin right.

If anyone else got any other tips to give, please post.

Frodaris Sortana ZionTCD Legacy Rising 43	Posted - 2012.09.19 14:36:00 - [2] - Quote I am glad someone understands the concept of moving from one 'sniping perch' to the next, as that is a very handy skill to have, so all of you fine snipers out there should take note of that if you haven't already. :) The rest of these tips are also quite helpful, especially the one regarding what to do when you see a tank and you have no possible way to damage it effectively (RUN AWAY MONTY PYTHON STYLE!). A bit of a fun fact here, I actually did not know that sprinting would cause you to come up on the enemy map, so thanks for that tidbit. I wonder if lowering your signature by upgrading the related skill would mitigate this?

Yes, by all means do that bunny hopping crap that so many COD players do. It's the ultimate tell for people who play too much COD, and the muzzle climb from my assault rifle seemingly tracks your silly bunny hops perfectly. Bad advice, and I'm confident running has nothing to do with being visible on radar. Any time one enemy sees you, all enemies see you, which makes trying to leisurely walk away from multiple hostiles a bad idea. If you make it past one enemy in a group or behind their lines and nobody notices you, you are playing a bunch of certified fresh off the COD boat newblets. I am confident that this is not a certified fact and is based on anecdotal evidence and/or speculation on the OP's part.

An engineer drop suit has a health pack in case your buddy gets shot. Also focus on building the skills that pertain to your specialty and stop buying stuff you can't use.

If anyone else got any other tips to give, please post. some of this information is incorrect, also this is more advice that sounds like shoot bad guys dont get shot...

If your surrounded by red dots when you spawn but no one is facing you take a beat and wait before you just open up on the nearest one. Where are you? Where are your allies? Where is the nearest cover? Is there a red behind you? Are they all out infront of you? Some of these questions can save you a quick death. On the Facility based TDM. When you default spawn at the beginning of the match dont move right away. Look around you quickly. You have no idea how many easy one shot kills I've gotten by spawning quickly waiting and looking and poof some one appears right infront of me. Always move from cover to cover. Never just go plodding off la ti da down the road. Know where cover is pick a location get to it asap zig zag and hide when you reach it. Its a cowardly thing to say but honestly never spear head an assault from a group of your guys to the enemies blob of people. Try and out flank them. Get behind dont just go in blindly assuming your whole team is coming with you to back you up with nanites and reps. Always pack nanite injectors there such easy ways to get SP and really help your team mates a ton.
SCAT gasman 6	Posted - 2012.09.19 15:43:00 - [8] - Quote if you are using nanite injectors, use them! those little syringes that pop up on ur map, those are guys waiting for you to come and get them. there is nothing more disappointing waiting for help that will never come. and in relation to sprinting and the map, next time u start a skirmish. explain how you can see the enemy's chevrons on the other side of the map, when no one on your team has one guy in there sights? well anyone not happy with the tips and my understanding of this game so far, please add to the post indstead of criticising, Its still a new game and we are all learning, again im no pro, but i do play a lot of FPS's, its obvious that most people in this beta do not, mostly eve players it seems. so i thought i give my thoughts and what advice i think might be helpful, but please do point out any incorrect tips, im still learning too. p.s I HATE COD.

There have been many a time that I have been able to run up to a player and they have not noticed me (and in alot of these instances they have been against players that I know are competent at the game). Obviously when mobile sensors, etc come into play, then that's a different story. How successful you are in Dust is down to 1 thing... COMMON SENSE! In truth, we could come up with 1,000,001 tips for newbies. However the best way to help them improve is to play with them and talk them through it.
