First of all........ I am not even close to a level where this will bother me.... hitting 3k SP is an achievement for me, but I hope, one day, to get better and on that basis I am interested in a question and answer.
I have just read in another thread that after a certain amount of games you will be limited to 15,000 SP.
Assuming this is correct, is this applicable to the account or the character?

Dont think there is a limit as such. If what i believe is true there is a pot of SP for the winning and losing team. Depending on how many WP you get in a game you get a share of that pot, the more WP you earn the bigger your share. You will then get a bonus to the sp you earn if its your first game and a slightly smaller bonus for each game after until it flattens off at 100%. So if all your team are goofing around not doing much and its your 100th game of the day you could still in theory earn 100k of SP if you did alot of stuff.

This isn't true.
Your first match of the day will always be the one where you have the maximum chance to get your best SP. Each match after that, whether you finish it or not, will reduce the amount you receive. This will continue to drop until your getting around 5-20k a match
Diminishing returns are reset every day at 12 midnight GMT. (I'm in UK and at the minute it's GMT + 1 here so it's 1AM this happens).
There isn't a "pot" of SP. If that was the case when we were boosting using the dropship glitch the entire team would've got a lot more SP than we did. The amount of SP you receive is based on your squads / your actions in game.
I'm not 100% here, but I think I've noticed a correlation between your kills and SP gain. It seems you get around a flat 1k SP per kill in game. I've not tested this yet, but I have noticed that my kills and k SP are nearly the same if all I'm doing is killing. |

I'm pretty sure it's applicable to the character only--shouldn't be too hard to test I guess. |

Are we sure it's the number of games played or is it the total SP gained for the day? I suppose CCP would prefer if we didn't fully understand it. |

I do find i get much less SP in games where we have the exploit crew fooling around in the spawn zones. I also get much more whne actively taking objectives and not just killing.
I also have random peaks in my SP gain which corralate directly to when i have a good game compared to the rest of the team (read total WP not kills) these can sometime hit 40-50k even on my 20th+ game when im averaging 10-20K. Not got access to how its worked out but im fairly sure you get more SP if you do well compared to the rest of the team (obviously I can only judge this subjectively). |

Ya if you play for a few hours it just get worse. I could only get about 120,000 sp a hour. My first few games were like 136,000 sp in one match then 76k then 50k then 36k then 20k then 15k then down to 10-5k each match.
