No offense, and i know you are doing your job, but simply closing a thread because it is off topic, or there are several others like it is not a great way to appeal to the gaming community.
We compare games. We talk about how we like our eggs done. We mention irrelevant things. It is what we do. We have flame wars cause its fun!
So please, i know you have a job to do, but do also respect the fact that so do we, and by asking how someone's afternoon is, we are doing it.
And when we mention another game/company, we are only doing a comparison. Very few of us are actually saying Dust is bad. Most of us love it.
So please, go a little easy on us. If there are a dozen threads on the same subject, well, let there be a dozen.
Please? With a cherry on top?

I think it helps of the thread titles aren't themselves Off Topic 
Comparing the features of one game to another is one thing, it'll happen, starting a whole thread that says X = Y comparing games? Yeah, that's over the line and doesn't help the beta process.
Also threads with a post or two that have no content, one thing. Threads that are no content on the OP? Something else again. |

Maybe create one single thread for all the inane bullshit you all keep posting then?
I'm sure if you ask nice they will leave open a single "HELLO HOW ARE U 2DAY" thread, He's just trying to keep the forums tidy.
Some people don't visit the forums as often and have to dig though 4 pages of **** before they strike gold. |

Well, the thing is that we don't currently have a true "General Discussion" forum, as this one is still Dust related. |

Flame wars, are definately, definately not fun. Every thread that i've been in that included constructive critisism, and mere company comparisisons to my knowlege has not been locked (if thats truly all that was happening of course it wouldn't be), because the ones I saw that were locked, turned into flame wars and became filled with posts of of people who hated dust, or the OP was just ranting. Honestly, I hope whoever is locking and moderating these threads keeps doing as good of a job as he is and keeps things productive. Maybe someone should just make a sticky, for rants and random sh*t, ect. |
