I'd like to retain my character name at the final reset, but I'd like to get a rewind on the other char details; race, sex, initial skills, etc.
I initially went for the choice that gave you the heavy suit boost, but haven't used heavy much and probably don't intend to in the final game. It makes little sense to lock in characters to skill-based decisions made in a beta (at least it does to me, especially when we're testing our preferred class/combat styles in the beta), and like-wise the other decisions. Character name is finalised of course, but I wonder what practical scope there is for other character details to be open for selection at the next reset?
Is it possible CCP could let us know if this is possible, and/or consider it for the final reset please? Thanks... |

Yeah, just do this, no offense, but I doubt many people want to steal the name Chihiro, Itto. |

i think the OP is talking about when the game goes to commercial release.
the general understanding is that all character data will be wiped once the Commercial version goes live.
if I understand correctly, the OP is asking if they can reserve their current character name for the commercial release. |

When the characters get wiped anyway, there is nothing lost by deleting it and making a new one. And we all keep the characters, just not the stats and inventory. The name stays reserved until he deletes the character manually. |

If it is as easy at that, fine. I thought it was possible, but was concerned about trying it.
I'm really not concerned about the name being stolen either, whether it's a one people would want or not. That's not the point though - and if it's flagged up on here then other people can see it. Thanks for the info. |

I already did delete a character and created a new one a couple of days later with the same name (this one actually). Not sure if you can create a new one immediately, or if you have to wait until some database gets updated (if so it's probably the next downtime), but in general it works without a problem.
In the upper right corner you can choose which character you want to be represented by in the forums. |
