This is what i do during most games regardless of ambush/skirmish, comms or not:
Logistics w/ assault mass drvr, nanohive (armor rep), gauged drop uplink and repair tool
First thing is I do is determine where my team's 'center of mass' is and what direction we are going
If the team is competent, winning or has comms this is easier If the team is random, noob or losing (demoralized) this is hard.
Once I know where we are and where we are pushing I move to what I all 'The Base'. As in the base of the triangle formed by our team with the pointy end towards our objective (our direction of effort) - note: the triangle moves constantly but I am always trying to know where it is
I drop my first uplink on The Base, I drop the first nanohive within sight of the uplink in the direction of the triangle' point ( the objective).
Pro Tip: did you know that when you drop that uplink mercs will spawn in the direction you are facing when you toss it? Stop throwing uplinks into corners. Stand with your back in the corner and drop it!
I then move up behind our team and lob MD rounds into the enemy, try to rep, stay alive, push forward and deploy a second uplink (gauged so I can have 2 going at once) closer to the front line
This is my opening game plan
What do you do?
I find it important to ask because during games where everyone plays a team role my squads and teams tend to succeed whereas in games full of confused soloing mercs, we get rolled

Great tip on the drop uplinks. I've never used them so I didn't know that you spawn in the direction that its thrown. But do you have a plan of how to go about face shooting?!
When the game starts, what do you do first? Do you move towards a lettered objective? Do you stick with green squadies? Do you rush the enemies back field to disrupt their effort?
If you don't have a plan for winning you can just plan on not winning
When you move on the battlefield is it with a direction in mind? Are you moving from cover to cover and being aware of sniper positions, red vehicle movement, you direction of effort, a goal??
I swear you can feel the difference in a game where your team is 'just running about, shooting faces' and a game where teammates move with a purpose and cross support their squad
Without solid comms and player corporations ( yes, coming, so is Christmas) talking about roles, plans and tactics on forums can help us all work better in combat - even without voices locked on |

We tend to be a flanking squad as we know each others strengths and weakness and play styles so if we see the enemy focusing one direction against our team, we usually try to go around and flank.
Flanking!
Flanking is such a superior tactic. Stop shooting faces! Start shooting Ears!
If you shoot a face they are looking at you. If you shoot an ear ( or the back of their head) you are doing it right
Always be flanking. Thanks, good approach |
