I'm a dropship pilot, and I've figured out that missile launchers are what I want to be giving my gunners, but beyond that- I'm not sure what type of missile launcher people prefer.
So I just want as many opinions as possible- do gunners prefer turrets with high ROF, but low blast radius; or high blast radius, lower damage? |

Found myself asking the same question. I've been using the Militia Missile Launchers for a while, but I'm planning on upgrading them to something a higher amount of splash damage, and if any of them have a larger radius, even better.
Haven't found a way to stay hovering in one spot (I'm not good enough yet) so accuracy for my guns isn't good, so splash damage is a must. |

Until the recent AV buff I would've said accelerated. However as of right now swarms are extremely popular and as long as that remains the metagame altitude is the enemy of a dropship pilot. Your best odds of survival now are staying below the skyline, thus minimizing the people who can see and lock onto you as well as giving the swarms lots of obstacles to hit.
As a result of this change the long range accuracy of the accelerated launcher may not be necessary. Default or cycled may be better, I'm not sure. I have been bogged down with schoolwork and my normal gunner bogged down with actual work for the last few days, so I haven't gotten much play in with the new patch. Just enough to know that swarms are super duper popular. |

Railguns are good for accuracy or for attacking installations/vehicles. Missiles are best for splash damage against infantry. Blasters are good for groups of enemies and for quick turning turrets.
On a dropship it's better to have a bigger blast radius in the guns so it really hits the ground hard. If the dropship is primarily for taking out installations or tanks maybe add a faster or more accurate turret. |

I tend to give gunners cycled, due to the fact that at least a couple have to hit, regardless of skill. |

I found most gunners were far more effective with the XT-1 Accellerted Missille launcher.
Now post hot-fix I haven't been up enough to say if that's changed. |

So, right now a lot of people are saying different things- I have one set up with fragmented launchers, and one set up with cycled, depending on the situation. I'm not using a railgun anymore since they're almost always worthless against anything smaller than a dropship/HAV |
