 Was just wondering if anyone heard anything about this because if something isn't done the new point system for dropships won't mean that much. I know there is news about counter measures being worked on but any thing about how dropships are effected by AVs when they hit dropships. Thanks

 So nothing on addresseing that problem when it a big concern and a reasonable one for pilots for the next build yet? :(

 Eh, I'm forced to agree with the EZ-moder: Hit detection still sucks and is the most essential part of any shooter.
 
 Even were it not I think in terms of durability dropships are where they should be. They're a transport helicopter stand-in and heavy armor and heavier shield generators are not conducive to flight. That said I do think the dropship needs a way to reward the pilot for transporting people and adding flares would be welcomed. Another idea is to have a module for automated point-defense laser for shooting down at least part of a missile swarm.

 I heard it was something to do with calculating things..
 Then I remembered that calculating is something to do with maths, I shuddered and tried to forget the whole thing.
 
 But yeah, if someone could explain how to find out the EHP, would be mighty helpful.

 EHP is effective hit points ie total hp including the effect of resists.
 
 But I think dropships may aswell be removed from DUST altogether ... if they're only going to be used to crash into the ground behind your own redline and have your squadmate continuously repair you, farming warpoints and exploiting game mechanics match after match then they should be nerfed into oblivion !!
 
 You know who you are ... and if I see you doing it again I won't think twice about naming and shaming you !

 Sorry to hijack your thread but it was the first dropship related one I saw and you needed an answer to the EHP aswell.
 
 On topic I agree they do need looking at and I'm sure it's next on the list now that HAVs have lost their 'I WIN' mode. The flight model is brand new this build and takes a good deal of skill to fly as it should, I guess they didn't look into how the new impact mechanics would impede the dropship before they rolled both aspects out together.
 
 Some kind of countermeasure module would help a great deal I'm sure but as a full time assault, proto swarm, SMG, damage mods user I already find many dropships take a good few salvos and fly behind towers to repair.

 We get:
 
 1) Chaff/Flares for swarm defense
 
 2) An HP bump
 
 3) Reduced knockback from missiles.
 
 4) A pilot dropsuit
 
 5) Afterburners
 
 6) A new WP award model
 
 7) An improved HUD
 
 I'm pretty sure the first three will be in the next build, not sure about the others.
 
 There may well be further eWar modules
 
 The executive producer stated that they were very interested in making the pilot class an important role and I trust them to both make it possible for us to fulfill our main mission of transport, and to reward us for that work. It will just take some time to get it all worked out.
 
 Meanwhile it's up to us to do our best with them so they can find out if their efforts are effective without being overpowered.

  , as I do really like flying them because it fits my play style. Logistics is the only other class I play the most because I enjoy the helping and support classes. |

 I bought a dropship for my first test, no idea how to fly. Promptly (somehow) actually got airborne, then rolled right and over, hit the ground from about 20 feet in the air and took it down to less than half health, touched the ground again from only a few feet and it exploded, instantly killing all 5-6 of us o.0

 I practiced on the big map back near the home spawn point, its pertty safe and there are areas to practice landing and maneuver around
