The game looks good, but controls weird. It's a ps3 exclusive yet it's built like a computer game. The d-pad should be used for things that actually help in combat instead of communication and other such things. Also the sensitivity is really slow even at it's highest. The combat in general is pretty slow, and not in a good way.
This game is just... weird right now. |

It's going to be weird, if it didn't feel like things were strange than it wouldn't be making changes to the way you're playing a console FPS.
Keep in mind that all of this is going to be connected to this vast existing MMO world eventually, and it gets a lot more exciting and easier to look past the current flaws and want to help make the final product as good as it can be. |

I'm not sure why you think its too much of a computer game? None of your points back that up.
As for the slow combat.. Right now we have small player amounts. I think CCP will be increasing it soon. Though, it doesn't feel too slow. |

Maybe this is because I'm an eve player, but I don't really see why it would need a tutorial... it controls basically like every other FPS, and the skills are pretty self-explanatory... And for the most part, you can figure everything out in under 10 minutes, which is less time than taking a tutorial usually takes...
Though I would admit, it would be good to include clearer decriptions of exactly what a "Mass Driver" or "Forge Gun" is, along the lines of "This is a grenade launcher" and "This is basically a portable AV cannon." |

fitting is not self explanatory, a eve veteran can jump right in but fitting hell to learn if you donGÇÖt already know about it. when they add custom controls then it wont matter where they put what button. |

Good point, fitting could definately use at least a brief explanation. Maybe a dialog that pops up on first use, or a help button or something... |

They need to add a tutorial for a couple thing's actually. First off would be skills and how they effect Items and equipment in game, as well as allowing you to use better equipment. For example, why is it important to get electronics and engineering skill up to 5 quickly in this game, an FPS. An EVE player knows, it's because it allows you to fit more or better things on the same suit/vehicle, and person who's not familiar with EVE does not. |

While what you say is true, I don't know if it's really that necessary... I mean, if a player sees that he keeps being unable to fit good modules because he never has enough PG, and then sees that there's a skill that augments PG, the connection shouldn't be too hard to make on his own. At least from my perspective.
Then again I could just be jaded by the constant hand-holding in other modern games... |
