Seriously, I don't have an issue with these weapons being powerful as long as they don't have infinite freaggin ammo.
Not even Eve Online ships have infinite ammo - so why do vehicles, exactly?
Hell, give them some damage increase to compensate or something but having an ammo capacity which requires being near a supply depot or a vehicle nanohive (new module idea?) would be a lot more ideal than this back and forth AV/HAV hot-fixing. Glad they reduced the resistances but adding more damage to the AV weaponry might have made this too heavy handed - we'll see after the patch but for the moment I'm... Concerned... |

Just put a Capacitator (or was it capacitor?) on it like EVE ships have. I wouldn't mind even though I use LAVs a lot. |

Ammo is a good idea... if it can be resupplied on it's own without supply depots, like after 90 seconds or something, because if that supply depot gets blown up, and there is no replacement, then as a tank driver I am going to drive into the corner of the map so I don't lose my expensive tank, and then I'm going to stay there in my tank to ensure that some idiot doesn't get in it and get it blown up.
Edit: I'm not saying NO to resupplying from a supply depot, I'm just saying there needs to be a backup plan, maybe resupplying from a depot is faster but after a long enough amount of time the tank can resupply itself. |

Someone else had a good thread about this. Ammo is fairly old hat and I think most of us agree it'd be a good idea, but this other guy suggested that the main limitation be weapon magazines and reload times. That is, the ammo is unlimited overall, but each weapon has a magazine of a certain size, and takes a certain amount of time to reload. So, a large railgun turret may have a magazine of 15 rounds, and takes 10 seconds to reload. Meanwhile, a large blaster turret may have a magazine of 200 rounds and take 7 seconds to reload. Or something like that.
Anyway, either way is good. Either genuinely limited ammo or semi-limited. Both are better options than unlimited ammo which doesn't punish people for spamming shots constantly. |
