what would your thought be on Anti Vehicular Mines, aswell as Anti Personel Proxy Mines?
I for one would absolutely love using AP proxy mines for early warning on approaching enemies when sniping.

I don't mind as long they added a sensor skill for it. |

I actually brought that up a while back. The self proclaimed FPS shooter experts with credentials like, (MAG, MW3,BF3,BLK OPS), didn't it was a good idea. |

Prox mines could be cool, also could hinder. Objectives would be hard to approach. |

Proxy mines would have t o be true proxy mines. ANYONE stepping near it, gets damaged. Not many like being killed by FF |

What's the difference between clay mores and proximity mines? Would they explode if you're next to it? |

No, CCP made that same mistake when they made EVE and put proxy mines in which led to overused gate camping which is when they took them out and now everyone uses 'smart bombs' now which is basically a mobile ship exploder. AV grenades are the same thing if used right, so i doubt that they're gonna make the same mistake twice.... although anti-personnel devices qouldnt hurt as much.....and cook your grenades its the best thing for AP not AP mines
my opinion has been voiced.... I HAVE SPOKEN yoink : ) |

Call of Duty has Claymores. They potentially work the same way as a mine would. Battle Field Three has... mines. They work great as an AV device for engineers. I have not played mag as I didn't hear great things about it.
I say bring um on, more for AV purposes then AP. I'd say a 1min arming timer, and make them an equipment slot, not a grande replace. This would give something specific to give to AV type drop suits. Plus another element in game, which will only add to the excitement of counters.
I say SEND IN THE MINES! |

AV grenades are enough, if we want automatic player killers we should have drone killbots running around killing everything.
But speaking of AV grenades.. I tossed one out trying to predict a tank's direction.. then tossed another closer.. but still not in range.. then I duck under cover from enemy fire and a second or two later I get a tank kill from them. :) They are quite nice. |

EMP mines would be alright. Y'know, something that'd slow vehicles, maybe scramble their UI or something, for 10 or 15 seconds or something like that. I like the idea of having mines that can help you ambush a tank provided there is equipment you can use to disable enemy mines. Anti-personnel mines of a similar sort would be okay. Something that impairs and makes vulnerable infantry, but don't get a kill for you.
However, damaging mines of any type are a bad idea. You should not be able to kill or damage tanks simply because you paid a bit of ISK for mines and clicked the ground a few times. Low-skill methods like using mines should have similarly low payoff. |

hell yeah give me anti tank mines like on mag and i would lure enemy tanks with a lav into a deadly trap of doom. Stuff like that was quite good on MAG cause you had a very effective way to deny a road for a enemy APC. But there was a counter for it a sensor that could detect anti tank and personel mines. And anti tank mines would teach reckless tank drivers a lesson. |

A claymore makes a cone shaped blast of fragments when triggered by trip wire or remote. A proximity mine blows up when approached.
Anti-personnel proximity mines that make a beep as they count down for about 1/2 second that are as visible as re last build would be fine. Someone clearing area would have warning to back up, someone just running along would die. Few second delay to activate once put down to prevent them used like improved thunker fused grenades or last builds re.
Anti-tank mines as visible as remote explosives would be fine.
Claymores, if added, need a visible trip wire, black laser beam would work well. Last build the black repair beams could be seen, but not obvious. |
