I want to hear awesome stories from my fellow dropship pilots or their gunners about the most epic moment you have experienced so far in a dropship. Ill go first...
We were playing skirmish on a map with three letters. It was myself and two gunners in a squad with mics and a well fitted myron. So we call in a dropship and are doing our thing when one of my gunners gets shot out and the armor starts to burn. I hightail my ass out of there so my other logi gunner can repair me. Well the gunner who got shot out respawns at A to help defend it since it was being taken. He gets completely outgunned. There were atleast 10-12 enemies pushing A and he ends up being the only person on our team left at A. Its only a matter of seconds before he is completely overrun and he cant do anything but hide and call for help.
So we finish repairing the dropship and go tearing across the battlefield to pick him up. I execute a perfect fullspeed to fullstop landing directly beside him and he hops in the empty gunner seat. As we take off I fly slowly straight over A and my gunners TORE THE ENEMY APART.
It was a massacre.
The enemy stood no chance and within 15 seconds of picking up my second gunner we had taken them all out, about 10-12 total. I had the biggest shiteating grin on my face because as a dropship pilot, its moments like those that make me love this game.
So now that you have heard my story I would like to hear yours! |

nothing too epic since i seem to never be in matches with people on com's these days.
Most interesting one i can think of was when i got shot down and when i bailed out i landed right on top of another dropship! I then flew around on his roof for a bit, was rather amusing.
And in the last build we had successfully redlined the other team, so myself and my gunner flew in a huge circle, half of which was right over the enemy spawn point just tearing **** up. I think my gunner got 35/2. Next match a guy recognizes my name and says "Hey man, you're that pilot from last match, that **** was just brutal" made me feel all warm inside. |

Im still in shock and a little proud of my second drop ship outing....
So i was learning to fly on the militia Caldari dropship, using the spawn point on board to drop peeps right on objectives, whilst some one fired my missiles in random directions. Thats when i get hit by 2 simultaneous swarm hits.
I'm straight into armor but thankfully not on fire, I got knocked so hard it takes me 10-20 seconds to get my bearings when i see more swarms coming at me from across the map!!!
I streak behind the nearest hill and miss that salvo but im now completely out of control. I weave, and dodge the scenery, throwing my ship one way then the other, and pop hit by a third swarm.
Im on fire curling up into a barrel roll so i try and aim in the general direction of one of our objectives when the barrel roll hits its apex.
This of course turns me in the complete opposite direction facing directly at a fourth and killing missile salvo. In a last ditch attempt at doing anything with this drop ship, i slam on the thrust point my nose directly at the floor and end up plowing straight into an enemy resupply station...
I end up killing 6 in the crash not including my self, 1 crazy gunner that didnt bail, and 5 unlucky enemy. This allowed our team to take it, and hold that area for the rest of the game including its nearby null cannon.
After in chat some guy asked if they could gun for me as they were impressed by my amazing flying skill.... hahahahaha. |

Most epic drop ships momments hey.
Well my first would be Ambush on biomass I think the map is. Well Enigma99 is my gunner. We get in and I am ripping around the map looking for targets all of a sudden all we can see is a bunch of red arrows and a few blue guys. I pull into my AC130 style orbit around the targets and enigma lets loose. within about 20 seconds he got 20 kills. For that whole time all that took up the kill feed was enigma (Myron missile) kill enemy. It was just glory watching the kill feed completely filled up by us for those 20 seconds. Lets just say swarms where out and we where under fire of about 8 swarm guys the rest of the match so we could only pick up 3-4 kills after that.
My worste momment. Well I got all cocky after another drop ship pilot on my squad gets shot out of the air. I go hey man watch this I will have no trouble at all. I am flying around and we are just kicking some but even though I am getting pestered by proto swarms. well I had to take off I start my usual safety flight route. I did not gain enough speed on it and the proto swarm guy was right on top of the hill where I fly behind as I come up the cannon road he locks fires as I pass. I tilt foward to gain more speed. All of a sudden after burners over nose I go a complete fleet and then do half flip to be up side down again. Yep I was done for no saving my ship with how close we where to the ground. Ya once it crashed it did a few more flips. It looked pretty amazing yet it was one of the moments I knew I was done for. I bet the swarmer had the show of his life. |

One time I ate several swarms at once. My shields somehow only went down to about 25%, but what was far more terrifying is I lost control of the dropship. Now listing heavily to one side, I bounced off one of the towers which was enough to invert me completely and send me towards the ground at a billion kph.
At this point the crew figured I was a lost cause and abandoned ship, but I would not take this sitting down. I will either drag my 500k dropship out of hell, or I will see the name of the person responsible for this offense! Plummeting towards the hillside I was able to turn the ship somewhat vertical and slow down some, but it was too little, too late. Resigning myself to my fate, I prepared to see my investment turn into a fireball.
But when I hit the ground, it was with the side of the dropship. Somehow the structure is especially resilient to side impacts. I watched with confusion as my dropship rolled on the hill until it was vertical and it bounced back into the air, cruising over the battlefield. I had only taken a pittance of armor damage, and my shield booster was ready for another go.

And then 30 seconds later the server died and unceremoniously dumped me back in my merc quarters. When I checked my inventory the dropship was gone. |

First time I Flew a gorgon seeing all the bitching posts about the DS controls I was concerend I was going to crash immedeatly.
With one gunner he soaked up maybe 5 kills around objective A on the 5 objective map.
I was really impressed, because I tend to fly pretty low, I managed to tank a shot from a forge gun and not insta pop.
Really impressed with the gorgon, was flying caldari DS in the last build, glad I switched to gallente. |
