So, I've been in the beta for only a few days, and I really like what I see, although admittedly there are a few issues. The Merc Packin the store caught my eye a while back, but now I am seriously considering it. I like the game, but am not a diehard eve fan at this time. Do you, the fans, consider the pack worth it for someone who already has access? If so, WHEN should I buy it? Right away, after the next reset, etc? |

as when things get reset you will get it all back
so if you are worried about wasting RL money on things you can try stuff out and get it all back for the next build and try again |

Not to sound annoying, but what you buy with aurum is consumable right now, correct? I mean, there aren't any permanent decorations or whatnot yet?
And you are saying the merc pack resets at reset? |

The 4,000 AUR you get is worth it alone (4000 AUR = ~$16). Plus you get the Skinweave DS and the Toxin SMG (both which are OB) so you don't have to use militia. I'm in PS+, so during the discount, I bought more ($10 was too good of an offer to pass up). Th AUR items are fairly cheap, and are what you can buy with ISK, just different looks (most of it). If an item is better in some way (like a LITTLE higher damage), it has an extremely high CPU/PG cost (which I think is fair) so that it is almost the only thing you can equip on your Dropsuit / Vehicle.
And you will get it back after any character resets
EDIT: And yes the AUR items are consumables |

Judging by the exchange rates shown on the psn store, I could tell that the aurum and the two OB made it worth it. My only question was if the pack as a whole was worth it (which I guess is irrelevant according to the aforementioned points), and whether since this was a beta if it is worth the effort. However, it sounds like it is something worthwhile, so I'll probably end up going for it. |

It's worth it I say, got it the other day. the Dragonfly Dropsuit has so very strong points to it. Able to fit 2 biotic mods for example, making it very fast. And the toxin smg is decent too, both of those are perm so far, hopeful they stay that way. The other stuff I haven't used a lot of, but seems to be solid equipment. I just wish I'd got it before the numbers dropped down on the mods. |

A 7 day skill booster costs what, 600 aurum? Or is it 700? You get a 30 day skill booster with the merc pack, along with some good items, and 4,000 aurum.
The Dragonfly suit is the only one you'll ever need. |

the Dragonfly Scout Suit is unlimited like a militia suit, but it has the same stats as the Standard Scout Suit. Same with the Toxin SMG, unlimited like militia but it has the stats of a standard SMG. These two items alone plus the AUR make the merc pack a very good deal. |

I think the Merc pack is mosdef. worth buying.
Besides the AUR and the unlimited dropsuit and assaultgun you get some decent droplinks/grenades etc. but you also get the 30 days SP booster (worth +_2000 aur ... if you calculate it by the store prices). The aur alone is almost worth the $, add the ds, the gun and the booster and you are getting way more then what you pay for.
I bought multiple packs when they where 50% off 2 weeks ago for the 30 SP boosters alone, the rest was just a plus in my case. I don't have time to play 6-8 hours a day so this will help me get to some decent levels in less time.
As mentioned in the posts before all consumables will reset on the next wipe so you can experiment with builds, level up a bit faster.
Also the ds is quite decent (still using it after 2 weeks of playing since it is still the best for my level/build).
If you're planning on getting it anyway you might as well get it now, before the wipe, so you have time to experiment with items/weapons etc without actually loosing anything.... (as in you'll get totally refunded/restocked upon wipe)

I got the Merc pack. they game is free. free to play. so figured 19.95 for some cool stuff wasn't so bad. and it allowed me in the closed beta without having to buy a playstation + account or getting selected from however they select people.
and one the things you get is the 30 day 50% experience (skill point) bonus! |

I bought it when it was on sale for $10 for PS+ members, and it has felt like a pretty good deal. At $20 however, I'm not sure I would recommend others to pick it up unless they enjoy playing as a scout. |
