While it might be fun to pancake an unsuspecting trooper by landing on top of him with some force, this should not be a maneuver a dropship can withstand without taking extensive damage. Especially if it misses the firs couple of tries. |

Have you flown dropships this build? Someone who can pull off a dropship pancake without blowing themselves up has some skill. |

Dude hitting the ground hurts, a lot. But it hurts a lot less if you hit it landing gear first. Smushing people is really difficult, but usually done landing gear first hence them not being critically damaged.
Honestly if you got smushed its you're fault. Dropships are big and slow to change direction at low speeds and its difficult to bring down safely. As a soldier on the ground you should of noticed the giant blimp with the really loud rockets on the side and GTFO. |

if so ill have to experiment, havent bothered trying to squish anyone, is more fun drawing everyones fire and living to tell the tale :) ...probably why i dont fly on the 3 point map.... |

The designers forgot landing gear in the current build. That's why we have to float down like a feather or take a big shield hit. We have been promised true sending gear in the next build. |

The landing gear are a couple of spikes that pop out of the bottom well on the gallente model anyways this happens in unison with the doors opening
And to the maker of this thread only thing i can say is dont stand im the middle of the rood in game or in rl i hate people that just stands there gets hit by a car and complains to god that drivers are idiots |

Seriously, vehicles actually take far TOO much damage when they crash (seriously, they nearly blow up even at low speeds, it's pretty ridiculous). |

Well...it was my fault really, but still...the pilot missed me like three times, while I tried to shot his gunner with my SMG (don't even know if that is possible)...trying to fight a dropship with a sniper rifle and SMG is not the brightest idea...anyway...I found it strange that he could hit the ground multiple times without exploding his ship...but maybe he was just exceptionally skilled. |

They already did this last patch. Too much. Now it's really difficult to land with any quickness and pick up people without doing serious damage. These aren't ships made of eggshells here, they can be built to withstand some impact damage. |
