So anybody have any ideas of who the Player market will work?
Here is the situation in eve and how can this relate to Dust In eve everything is listed in the market and then depending where you are you can buy for a ridiculously high price or you can search for a cheaper price in that region and spend around 10 mins going to pick it up. Or what most people do is go to trade hubs (jita) where lots of people go to sell and buy things, the turnover here is quicker and prices GERERALLY reflect the average price of item.
So with this how will this work in dust, as I donGÇÖt think we will be able to move from system to system, or if we can it will be instant, so having different markets is pointless as there is no incentive to buy at any other place rather than the cheapest, ( in eve the main incentive is laziness)
So from these assumptions there will be one big market and back to eve in these trade hubs, people sit there changing the price by 0.01isk at a time so their product is cheapest os this going to work in Dust ?
Anyways just some thoughts, has anyone had any thoughts of how this will work ?

Well I had the suggestion that even though the transportation of Dust Merc Conciousness can be in an instant, it would cost money to be transferred. I think the lower the security and the large3r the distance the more it will cost. In the end this would make people do a shopping trip to Jita for 40m isk by mind transport or contract a freighter to ferry their bpcs for 10m into low sec. |

this could work, but this may be a bit complicated for the casual gamers that CCP want to draw in |

The instant movement jump clones in eve where limited by infomorph psychology. DUST mercs transfer implant is more adv, but may have limits. EvE pilots can jump once 24h and have clones in 6 spots at lv5, Dust mercs could jump a limited distance (light year or gates)per jump with some cool down. Infomorph psychology could be skill catagory with skills to raise jump distance, reduce cool down time, number of active jump clones.
Dedicated jump clones could allow unlimited distance jump every 24h like eve with limit based on skill. Regular clones could be hopped to at a cool down of x minutes and x distance, to make move time similar to EvE, as long as there are freindly areas along route. Except a game could be played waiting for cool down in that system, instead of having to fly ship in eve. Corp war barge could act as jump clone as well, so distance won't matter to jump into corp battle. |

I think the markets will be regional just like EVE. Dust is planned to slowly roll out all the way to Null Sec (and new planet types as well) and CCP has been very adamant that they will not allow anything in the Dust econ to skew the EVE baseline. And having instantaneous transportation of goods or Mercs within Dust would detract from many aspects of the persistent universe of New Eden.
Even with the considered idea of ISK taxes for transfers of funds/goods from Dust side to EVE side or vice versa the elimination of distance/travel time would be of great detriment in several ways.
The current iteration of beta most closely resembles the High Sec roll out of Dust while the Low Sec FW aspects will have deeper persistent roots and far less of the "instant battle" aspect that we're seeing in the current build.
There's also talk of having Dust interact with the PI in EVE and just picture what it would do to the econ balance if things like "moon goo" could be instantly funneled through Dust (even at an extra cost) to another location.
Ok it's late and I'm not sure how much sense I'm making in describing my thoughts at the moment so I'm going to call it here.
