I've noticed recently that when I'm flying a dropship, my gunners will start mopping up some kills yet all I get are these vehicle assists... even though I'm the one setting them up with all of their shots and making sure we don't get shot right out of the sky.
At the end of the game, the board makes it look like the pilot didn't do a damn thing. I went 3/4 on one game, but my dropship managed to sweep up almost 25 kills before being shot down.
Give us some sort of "Pilot Assist" or something that's worth the same amount as a kill (probably should count as one to). Otherwise, it's kind of unfair to those of us who prefer to drive. |

We're getting some love next build. I doubt we'll get points for non-kill assists, but rumor has it we'll get points for every point-earning action taken by the people we drop. Should help put the dropship in its proper role. |

i would like to see kills and assits broken down into dropsuit/pilot/gunner kills deaths and assits. we all assume that the guy that was 25 and 0 was in a tank but id like to know for sure. |

Oh, it would be wonderful to get points for hacks and kills on objectives by team mates that we drop! If the rewards are large enough that would cause me to equip a CRU AND to hot drop for pickups in order to place suits on target rather than just give gunners kills. I could give up my day job carrying an AR and make the dropship fulfill its intended function.
Of course all that assumes improved communication. Taxi drivers can't be effective if their passengers don't call for pickup or don't specify a destination. And "I'm by the big hill" doesn't qualify as good directions for a pickup. Some kind of beacon would be nice. |

If it turns out to be true we'll have to put together a forum post about how best to take advantage of a friendly dropship pilot. Even without great treamwork and communication, just hovering over a cap point with a CRU should get us a lot of points. |

The pilot does need some loving. Teamwork conquers all and all that.
Planetside had a good system in place similar to what's described as the proposed change.
In that anybody spawning from a vehicle that goes on to kill something, the pilot of the spawn point gets a percentage of his kills.
There's already a system in Dust that works very similar and that's the Squad Leader commision. Putting something like this into place would be awesome and I'd actually spec into dropships for sure.
The only reason I don't at the minute is the fact it's massive risk for little to no reward. |

I suggested this in a similar thread a little while ago but it dropped back a bunch of pages with no feedback.
Why not have any merc that deploys from your drop ship exits with a "bonus radius" that lasts for _ amount of time that feeds back to the pilot. Same as dropping a command order on something except that after however many seconds it expires, could be tied to the pilot skill so say a lvl one pilot gets a 5 second timer where as a lvl 5 gets a 20 second one (timer length to be determined).
A pilot would then be sufficiently rewarded for doing the job of a pilot...getting troop to where they are needed. A forge gun heavy hops out and kills a tank, collect your bonus...same goes for capping objectives, killing troops, hacking installations. It would give the pilot his due cause the merc wouldn't have been there to do the task if he hadn't been effectively shuttled. |

I talked to CCP nothin about this in IRC last week. He said they're going to tackle the issue of us getting too little WP for piloting. He also is the one who said they've discussed giving us a percentage of WP earned by passengers we drop. He didn't promise implementation of that idea, just said they're thinking about it. |
